The origins of wrongdoing are three:

1. Arrogance: It is that which drove Iblees to that which it drove him (i.e. to commit that which Iblees committed).

2. Desire: It is that which caused Aadam to be expelled from the Paradise.

3. Jealousy: It is that which caused one of the sons of Aadam to transgress against his brother.

Therefore, whoever is protected from the evil of these three (traits) then indeed he has been protected from evil. For disbelief is from arrogance; disobedience from desires; and transgression and oppression from jealousy.

It’s easy to look at them and ignore and move on, however if we were to contemplate on the potential for reward; and ongoing reward- then we would donate to every project we saw - even if it is a small amount.

We should give charity whilst these projects are taking place; because there may come a time when you desire to give charity but it will not be needed any longer.

On the Authority of Haritha bin Wahab Al-Khuzai: "I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: '(O people!) Give in charity (for Allah's cause) because a time will come when a person will carry his object of charity from place to place (and he will not find any person to take it) and any person whom he shall request to take it, will reply, If you had brought it yesterday I would have taken it, but today I am not in need of it'."

Narrated by `Adi bin Hatim heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: "Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity."
