When we knew mom had kept juice in the water bottle.

"Ma'am can I drink water?"
"can nahi, say May I"
"Ma'am May I drink water?"
"Yes, you may"

*Takes out the Barbie waali bottle*
*gulp-gulp*

"Ek sip de na.
Ek sip De na."

"Sorry mai nai de sakti, ye juice nahi dawayi hai"

A group of 94 students from the Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, Rajbagh, Srinagar, visited Raj Bhavan here today and met Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, and Mrs. Usha Vohra, First Lady.

The students were accompanied by Sister Jyoti, Principal of the School, and five of their Teachers during their visit to the Raj Bhavan. A similar visit of nearly 100 girls had taken place last year also.

The children were delighted at this memorable opportunity of being hosted by the Governor and the First Lady and to be able to go around the Raj Bhavan lawns. The children were shown around the lawns and the gardens by the Raj Bhavan staff.

The Governor and the First Lady interacted with the children, enquired from them about their studies and hobbies and wished them a bright future ahead. They hosted lunch for them.

The children thanked the Governor and the Lady Governor for providing them an opportunity to visit the Raj Bhavan.

Presentation Convent School Srinagar is located on 70 kanals of Govt land for which school pays just Rs 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Rupees) as Annual rent. But the school is not a non profitable organisation , it earns billions annually and gets land subsidy and hardly any poor students are given admission. The land given to convent is public property , Govt can earn Crores annually if it asks Convent School authorities to pay rent as per market value. Same is the case with Burn Hall , Biscoe & Mallinson , they too pay few thousand rupees as rent. We must protest against this . These schools have a great role in our education sector which we cannot deny but they must provide at least 30 % free seats to Poor children. We have got all the Information under RTI Act through conveyor of J&K RTI movement, Mr Muzaffar Bhat.
