CM SHRI Govt Primary School Parengaon
Welcome to our vibrant primary school community!📚✨Nestled in the heart of Parengaon, Soreng,W-Sikkim
Today was a highly informative and enriching day at our school as officials from the Disaster Management Department Sikkim (Soreng District) visited us to conduct a comprehensive mock drill on disaster preparedness, focusing on earthquake safety.
The session proved extremely beneficial for both students and staff. Students actively learned essential safety techniques such as Drop, Cover, and Hold, maintaining calm without rushing, and safely evacuating in an orderly line to open spaces. These practical demonstrations helped them understand how to respond effectively during real-life emergencies.
Our teaching and non-teaching staff also gained valuable hands-on knowledge, including the use of readily available school materials like curtains and tablecloths to create stretchers, safe methods of assisting minor casualties, and basic life-saving skills such as CPR.
Such initiatives not only build awareness but also instill confidence and preparedness within the school community to handle unforeseen situations responsibly.
On behalf of our entire school family, we extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated personnel of the Disaster Management Department, Soreng District, for their guidance, support, and commitment towards creating a safer and more prepared future for our students.

Students explored the concept of measurement using measuring tape, actively engaging in real-life learning. With curiosity in their minds and excitement in their actions, they measured objects around them while the teacher guided and supported whenever needed.
A PTM–cum–SMC meeting was successfully conducted today (25 March 2026) at C.M. SHRI Government Primary School, Parengaon with the active participation of parents, School Management Committee members, and school staff.
The meeting was held in the gracious presence of the Panchayat President of 06 Parengaon GPU, Smt. Dawaphutti Sherpa who is also the SMC President of the school. The program was further attended by SMC Vice President cm former teacher of the school Shri I. K. Chettri, Headmistress of the school, SMC Member cm BLO of Parengaon GPU Shri Hari Chandra Chettri, SMC Member Smt. Yasodha Chettri, along with the parents of the students and the entire school staff.
During the meeting, various aspects related to the academic environment of the school, student learning, and parent–teacher cooperation were discussed in a positive and constructive manner. A common concern raised by the parents and SMC members was the urgent requirement of adequate trained teachers in order to further strengthen the quality of education in the school.
It was collectively observed that the school presently requires at least:
• 3 PRT (General) Teachers
• 1 Bhutia Language Teacher
• 1 Pre-Primary Teacher
At present, the school is functioning with one PRT (General), one PRT (Limboo), and the Headmistress, along with a few non-teaching staff members.
The current student enrolment stands at 21, and parents expressed that the availability of adequate teaching staff could further encourage greater enrolment in the future.
All participants emphasized the importance of trained and professional teachers to ensure quality education and better learning outcomes for the children.
The school management, staff, and community members expressed their continued commitment to working together for the overall development and academic progress of the students.

A Sweet Celebration at Our School 🎉
Today, our school family joined in a sweet and memorable celebration.
Though little Leyana Rai, the younger sister of our kindergarten student Willina Rai, is not yet enrolled with us due to her young age, her parents chose to celebrate her birthday within our school family.
To mark this special day, they graciously provided a delightful meal of Samosa and Alu Dum for all our students and staff. The children enjoyed every bite, and the atmosphere was filled with joy and cheerful smiles. ❤️
We extend our sincere gratitude to the parents for their thoughtful gesture and for making our school a part of their celebration.
Wishing dear Leyana a very Happy Birthday! 🎂✨ May her days ahead be filled with love, laughter, and beautiful blessings.
