GHSS Dangerpora Organizes Educational Historical Tour
Under the able guidance and visionary leadership of Principal Mr. Mushtaq Sopori, Govt. Higher Secondary School Dangerpora organized an educational Historical Tour for the students of the History Department on 19th June 2026. The tour was aimed at providing students with firsthand exposure to historically significant sites and institutions, thereby enriching their understanding of Kashmirโs rich cultural and historical legacy.
As part of the tour, the students visited the historic Hari Parbat Fort, Srinagar, where they explored its architectural grandeur and historical significance. The participants also visited the ancient archaeological site of Parihaspora, the erstwhile capital established by the renowned ruler King Lalitaditya Muktapida, gaining valuable insights into Kashmirโs glorious past and rich architectural heritage. The visit to the Central Asian Museum further enhanced their understanding of the historical and cultural links between Kashmir and Central Asia.
A major highlight of the tour was the visit to the Department of History, University of Kashmir. On the occasion, eminent historian Professor Younis Rashid Shah delivered an insightful and enlightening lecture on the historical evolution of Kashmir, the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and the relevance of historical studies in contemporary society. The interactive session provided students with a deeper appreciation of history and encouraged them to explore the subject beyond the confines of the classroom.
The students also visited the revered Hazratbal Dargah, Srinagar, where they experienced the spiritual, cultural, and historical significance of one of Kashmirโs most cherished landmarks.
The tour was conducted under the supervision of the es**rt team and proved to be a highly enriching educational experience. Throughout the visit, students displayed keen interest, enthusiasm, curiosity, and exemplary discipline.
Principal Mr. Mushtaq Sopori appreciated the efforts of the organizing and es**rt teams and reiterated the importance of such educational initiatives in fostering historical awareness, cultural understanding, critical thinking, and intellectual growth among students.
