GHSS Dangerpora Organizes Educational Historical Tour

Under the able guidance and visionary leadership of Principal Mr. Mushtaq Sopori, Govt. Higher Secondary School Dangerpora organized an educational Historical Tour for the students of the History Department on 19th June 2026. The tour was aimed at providing students with firsthand exposure to historically significant sites and institutions, thereby enriching their understanding of Kashmir’s rich cultural and historical legacy.

As part of the tour, the students visited the historic Hari Parbat Fort, Srinagar, where they explored its architectural grandeur and historical significance. The participants also visited the ancient archaeological site of Parihaspora, the erstwhile capital established by the renowned ruler King Lalitaditya Muktapida, gaining valuable insights into Kashmir’s glorious past and rich architectural heritage. The visit to the Central Asian Museum further enhanced their understanding of the historical and cultural links between Kashmir and Central Asia.

A major highlight of the tour was the visit to the Department of History, University of Kashmir. On the occasion, eminent historian Professor Younis Rashid Shah delivered an insightful and enlightening lecture on the historical evolution of Kashmir, the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and the relevance of historical studies in contemporary society. The interactive session provided students with a deeper appreciation of history and encouraged them to explore the subject beyond the confines of the classroom.

The students also visited the revered Hazratbal Dargah, Srinagar, where they experienced the spiritual, cultural, and historical significance of one of Kashmir’s most cherished landmarks.

HSS Dangerpora Stands in Solidarity with the Bereaved Family in Their Hour of Grief 🕊️

A delegation from Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Dangerpora, led by Principal Mushtaq Sopori, visited Kanir, Chadoora (Budgam) today to offer heartfelt condolences to Shri Shabir Ahmad Raina, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sopore, and his family on the tragic and untimely demise of his beloved son, Tahseen Shabir Raina.

The delegation conveyed its deepest sympathies and expressed unwavering solidarity with the bereaved family during this moment of profound sorrow. The loss of a young life is an indescribable tragedy that touches every heart and leaves behind memories that will forever be cherished. In times such as these, words often fall short of expressing the depth of grief felt by those left behind.

On behalf of the entire school fraternity, prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
