Worthy Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir Mr T. Rabi Kumar, IFS visited Kandi Forests Range Sopore on 26th March 2022. He was accompanied by conservator of Forests North Circle Sopore Mr Irfan Rasool Wani IFS, Divisional Forest Officer Kamraj Forest Division Mr. Zahid Aslam DCF, Deputy Director Forest Protection Force Mr. Sarwar Ahmed and Range Officer Kandi Range Mr Altaf Ahmed. The day long tour was commenced with plantation in Montane Ecopark Rajpora.

Today on Range Officer Kandi Mr. Mohammad Altaf was conferred with UT level Forestery and wildlife Award by Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Sh Manoj Sinha for his outstanding contribution in protection of forests, afforestation and plantation works.

Yesterday on 11-02-2022, a group of 15 girl trekkers hiked on Butterfly Trail. They covered a distance of 14km and scaled an altitude of 2900m challenging thick blanket of snow (3ft) on the way.

Flagged Off by Range Officer Kandi Range Sopore, the girl trekkers started from Rajpora and reached to Trimukhan Top and then moved further towards Lolab boundary before descending via Rampora.

The participants displayed tremendous passion for adventure and thoroughly enjoyed their maiden walk in nature. The youngest trekker in the group was 13 years old and another one was mother with two kids.

The group was led by professional trekker Mr. Mudasir Bashir Shah (Member Pathfinders Club). The technical support was provided by Mountain Trekking and Hiking Club. The logistical support
was provided by J&K Forest Department.

It gives us immense pleasure to see some beautiful photos of our Montane Ecopark Rampora Rajpora and Butterfly Trekking Trail are been exhibited in Year-2022 calender prepared by the Conservator of Forests, Kashmir North Circle. The calender was officially released by The Worthy Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir in the presence of respected Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K and Conservator of Forests North Circle Sopore.

Today we pleased to receive youngest trekkers especially mere a 16 months old kid who hikes about 3km from Butterfly Trekking Trail upto Pathri amid 2 to 3 feet of snow..
