KPS Taekwondo Players Excel at SGFI Block and District Championship
Sonipat: Students of Kirorimal Public School delivered an outstanding performance at the SGFI Block Level Taekwondo Championship held at G.D. Goenka International School, winning several medals and earning qualification for the district-level competition. Their achievements reflect the school's commitment to excellence in sports and the dedication of its young athletes.
In the U-17 to U-19 Boys category, Moksh secured First Position in the 63–68 kg weight category, while Yuvraj won First Position in the 51–55 kg category. In the U-17 to U-19 Girls category, Alina claimed First Position in the 44–46 kg category, and Khushi Saini secured First Position in the 46–49 kg category. All four players qualified for the District Level SGFI Taekwondo Championship.
In the U-14 Boys category, Lakshay won First Position in the 32–35 kg weight category and qualified for the district-level championship, while Siddharth secured Second Position in the 29–32 kg category.
The U-14 Girls team also performed commendably. Yasvi (29–32 kg), Mahi (35–38 kg), and Akshara (26–29 kg) won Second Position, while Sanvi (38 kg and above) secured Third Position.
The qualified players then represented the school at the District Level SGFI Taekwondo Championship, held at Bright Scholar School, Sonipat. In the U-17 to U-19 Boys category, Moksh (63–68 kg) and Yuvraj (51–55 kg) secured Third Position. In the U-17 to U-19 Girls category, Alina (44–46 kg) and Khushi Saini (46–49 kg) won Second Position. Lakshay, who had qualified by securing First Position at the Block Level, also represented the school at the district championship with great determination.
The school management, Principal, coaches, and staff congratulated all the participants for their remarkable achievements and appreciated their hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship. They expressed confidence that the students will continue to excel in future tournaments and bring more laurels to Kirorimal Public School.
