RAAPTI Welcomes Union Education Minister’s Statement on NEP and Its Transformative Vision
Professor Jawahar Lal Raina, Chancellor, RAAPTI (World Leaders in Skill Development), has wholeheartedly welcomed the statement of the Hon’ble Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan that the National Education Policy (NEP) will bring the country’s new generation out of the Macaulay mentality and reconnect education with India’s civilizational ethos, skills, and self-reliance.
Professor Raina stated that the National Education Policy 2020, announced on 29 July 2020, is a historic and visionary reform that marks a decisive shift from rote-based, colonial-era education to a learner-centric, skill-oriented, and value-driven education system. The policy’s focus on holistic development, experiential learning, multilingualism, vocational integration, and employability aligns perfectly with the aspirations of a New India.
Welcoming the bold and decisive implementation of NEP by the Modi Government, Professor Raina said that this policy has the potential to liberate young minds from outdated frameworks, nurture creativity and innovation, and prepare students not just for jobs, but for life, entrepreneurship, and nation-building.
Highlighting RAAPTI’s long-standing contribution, Professor Raina emphasized that RAAPTI has been a pioneer, frontrunner, and leader in skill development, online education, and on-the-job education in India. He noted with pride that RAAPTI has been successfully running its School Skill Project since 1999, much before skill education became part of national policy discourse. Through this initiative, RAAPTI has consistently worked to integrate practical skills, vocational exposure, and industry relevance into school education.
“The NEP validates what RAAPTI has believed and practiced for over two decades—that skills, values, and knowledge must go hand in hand. The policy is not just an educational reform, but a cultural and economic transformation,” Professor Raina remarked.
RAAPTI reaffirms its commitment to actively support and strengthen the implementation of the National Education Policy through innovative programs, institutional partnerships, and skill-based initiatives that empower learners and contribute to India’s journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.

My Journey from Regional College Gurdaspur to a Global Career
My name is Harpreet Kaur, and I come from a small town near Pakistan Border in Punjab. Like many middle-class Indian families, mine valued education deeply, even though opportunities around us were limited. When I got admission into Regional College Gurdaspur, it felt like the first step toward something bigger.
From the moment I entered the college gates—wearing my neatly ironed salwar suit, carrying my dreams in a jhola bag—I knew this place was going to change my life. The was welcoming, and the were not just qualified but deeply invested in our growth. They understood the backgrounds we came from and tailored their support accordingly.
The college equipped us with knowledge, soft skills, and a strong sense of discipline. I still remember attending early morning computer labs, working on group late into the night, and nervously giving my first English presentation with a thick Punjabi accent. But with every semester, my confidence grew.
Thanks to the cell and regular campus drives, I was selected for an internship at an MNC in Gurugram. Today, I’m working full-time as a Business Analyst in that same company. I wear Western wear to office now, attend meetings with clients, and use tools I first learned about during my college days. And yet, I still carry a bit of home with me—be it in the paratha I bring in my lunchbox or the kada on my wrist.
Regional College Gurdaspur gave me more than an education—it gave me purpose, identity, and wings. I’ll always be grateful for the values and vision it instilled in me. From a small-town student to a confident professional in a global setup, my journey started there.
