Studying law within the interdisciplinary spaces of India’s leading law schools has created an imagination in today’s law students to explore careers beyond the pre-defined paths treaded by lawyers. Moving beyond the traditional choices of alternative careers in law such as civil services & academia, young lawyers today are venturing into newer and unchartered career paths, as writers, as artists, and in politics, among many others choices.

Recognizing the law students’ need for guidance, mentorship, inspiration, and role models on this path, Career Development and Placement Division (CDPD) of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) is organizing the seminar on UNCONVENTIONAL CAREERS AFTER LAW on September 22, 2015 at 10 AM at the O. P. Jindal Global University.

This seminar will provide the first of its kind platform for bringing together young lawyers who will tell their stories about finding a calling beyond law and their journey on this path. Sharing their struggles, motivations, and lessons learnt will help in inspiring students and providing them the necessary courage and direction in thinking about pursuing careers in newer areas after getting their degree in law.

Students are required to submit the following documents to CDPD in the first week of February:

CDPD member students -- Internship Certificate (xerox) + 1 pg Internship Report (signed by employer)

Non CDPD students -- Internship Certificate xerox only (to authenticate that they fulfilled the compulsory winter internship criterion)

Non Submission of the said documents would lead to unfavorable consequences.
