State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has released the official notification for admission into 2 - Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course for the session 2025 – 2027. Interested and eligible candidates must apply online first for Pre-Entry Test (PET) – 2025 for admission in to this course.

Fostering a Love for Reading:
To ignite a passion for reading in the young generation, D.El.Ed 2nd semester trainees at DIET Charaideo have creatively designed Pocket Books. Under the expert guidance of Senior Lecturer Aparajita Kaushik, each trainee has crafted a unique Pocket Book featuring their original poems, stories, artwork and more. This initiative will be extended to schools during their internship program, inspiring students and promoting a love for reading.
Pocket Book Unveiling Ceremony:
The Pocket Books were officially unveiled on 15th May by Mr. Biman Chandra Dutta, Principal of DIET Charaideo, in a ceremony attended by faculty members and trainees, marking a significant milestone in promoting creative learning and literacy.

An academic meeting was organised on 15th May at DIET, Charaideo, Sonari. Different burning issues and challenges were discussed in the meeting. Accordingly, decisions have been taken for the upcoming financial year activities. The Principal requested the faculty members to be involved up to the desired level to resolve issues and challenges with the changing scenario of the society.

District Level Yoga Olympiad-2025 competition has been conducted at DIET, Charaideo, Sonari on 8th & 9th May, 2025. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal, DIET, Charaideo, Sonari with a valuable speech. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Mondeep Chetia, Lecturer of Physical Education, DIET, Charaideo, Sonari. Two Judges ,Mr. Dipak Gogoi & Mr. Bhaskar Gogoi, 37th National Yoga Championship Participation, Referee: North East India Yoga Championship, P.G. Diploma in Yoga judged the participants and selected

2. Smt. Khusi Kumari of Sonari Hindi M.E. School (Middle Stage)

On May 6 and 7, 2025, DIET, Charaideo Sonari, hosted the District Level Yoga Olympiad 2025 at Desang Sukan Pukhuri High School. A workshop in yoga was planned on the first day and taught them and rectified them about the skills of kriya, bandha, pranayama, and yogasanas by experienced resource persons. The training program has attracted around 20 children from four Sivasagar district education blocks. To choose participants for the state-level yoga competition 2025, which will take place in Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Panjabari, Guwahati-37, on May 20 and 21, a yoga competition was held among them on the second day. Distinguished Sivasagar District school inspector Mr. Deva Jyoti Gogoi was the chief guest of the competition. Speaking to the parents and participants, Mr. Gogoi went into detail on the value of sports in fostering a healthy community. Mrs. Lina Gogoi, esteemed principal of the Desang Shukan Pukhuri High School, also attended the auspicious occasion. Four players have been chosen for the State Level Yoga Competition 2025. DIET, Charaideo, Sonari rigorously identify talent at the cluster and block levels. The competitors at the block level have participated in the district-level yoga competition. Mr. Mondeep Chetia, Lecturer coordinated the program, and Mr. Dipak Gogoi and Mr. Bhaskar Gogoi were the resource persons of the program.

A training programme on POCSO ,2012 and Manual on school safety and security of children in school was organised by DIET, Charaideo, Sonari on 25/04/2025 in face-to-face mode. The participants of the training were teachers from lab schools, student trainees, officials and academic officers of DIET, Charaideo. The resource persons of the training were Dr. Prithu Baruah and Dr. Swapnali Chetia.
The programme began with an insightful inaugural speech by the Principal DIET, Charaideo. He highlighted the importance and purpose of the training programme.
During the program the resource persons discussed the manual in a threadbare manner and disseminated the soft copy of the manual for its efficient implementation at district, block, school and community level.

A two days workshop on 'Holistic Progress Card: Envisioning a New Paradigm in Assessment by Parakh' was organized by SCERT from 28th to 29th March 2025. Two faculties from DIET, Sivasagar, namely Aparajita Kaushik, Senior Lecturer, and Priyanka Gogoi, Lecturer, attended the workshop. The resource person for the workshop was Bidisha Mazumdar from NCERT, who explained the concept of the Holistic Progress Card for three stages: Foundation, Preparatory, and Middle Stage. This progress card includes four pillars: Self, Peers, Parents, and Teachers, and is also known as the 360-degree assessment. The Holistic Progress Card provides a comprehensive evaluation of a student's development, focusing on academic, emotional, and social growth.
