Centre for Environment Education (CEE) with the support of UNICEF and Government of Karnataka is implemented the “SWACHA (Sanitation, Water, Cleanliness, Hygiene and Action in Schools) Shale” programme in Ramanagara District of Karnataka to improve WASH ( Water, Sanitation and Hygiene ) facilities in school, and imbibe hygiene behavior among children.
Under this project CEE aims to construct Hand Wash units in more than 50 schools of Solur Hobli, Magadi Taluk to promote group hand washing with soap before mid day meals for good health practices.
The implementation of project started in June 2014. Since then Hand wash unit in 31 schools of Solur have been constructed. The inauguration of the one of this unit was done by President of Zilla Panchayath.

As a part of Swacha Shale an orientation programme was organized at Govt High Schoo, Solur hobali, Magadi Taluk, Ramanagra by CEE on 25th Aug 2014.

Survey of the School on behalf of the SWACHA shale programme, help in knowing the condition of hygiene and sanitation followed in the school. Survey of the school depends on no. of toilets, Urinals, hand wash unit, drinking water facility and water storage facility available in school.
If school lack any of the facility Center for Environment (CEE) with the coordination of UNICEF and Govt. of Karnataka , aim at offering technical support to SSA mission in improving Sanitation, Hygiene practices including hand washin facilities in selected schools.
