B.L. School Kunihar NCC Cadets Shine at Annual Training Camp, Win Numerous Medals

Kunihar, June 24.

It is a matter of immense pride and honor for B.L. Central Senior Secondary School, Kunihar, that 26 NCC cadets (boys and girls) from the school delivered an outstanding performance at the ten-day NCC Annual Training Camp (ATC-225) held at Chitkara University, Baddi, winning several medals and accolades in various competitions and bringing glory to the institution.

The training camp was organized from June 14 to June 23, 2026, under the aegis of the 1st Boys Battalion NCC Solan. Around 588 NCC cadets from various schools, colleges, and universities across the state participated in the camp. The camp was conducted under the able leadership and guidance of Colonel Rajeev Thomas, Commanding Officer of the 1st Boys Battalion NCC Solan.

School Chairman Gopal Sharma informed that the school's NCC cadets participate in various training camps every year and consistently achieve remarkable success. This year as well, 26 cadets represented the school with great enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication. The school's ANO (Associate NCC Officer), Amar Dev, was also present at the camp and continuously guided the cadets.

During the camp, cadets received specialized training in drill, weapon handling, firing, leadership development, personality enhancement, social service, sports, and cultural activities. The school cadets excelled in various competitions and secured several medals.

Aksh*ta secured First Position in both the Solo Dance Competition and the Firing Competition. Tanya won First Position in the Speech Competition, showcasing her exceptional talent. In the Firing Competition, Mukund secured Second Position. The duo of Kartik and Saksham won First Position in the Badminton Competition. Meanwhile, Aksh*ta, Navya, and Chanchal secured Second Position in the Relay Race, and the school's team also achieved Second Position in the Basketball Competition, further enhancing the school's reputation.

School Chairman Gopal Sharma, the PTA President, and the entire teaching staff congratulated all participating and winning cadets and wished them a bright future. They stated that NCC serves as a powerful platform for developing discipline, leadership qualities, self-confidence, and a spirit of national service among youth.

The cadets who returned from the camp displayed remarkable enthusiasm and confidence. The experience and training gained during the camp will play a significant role in their personality development and help them bring pride to the school, Kunihar, and Himachal Pradesh at the national level in the future.

Zonal DSSA Meeting Held at B.L. School Kunihar; Deliberations on Sports Activity Framework

An important zonal-level meeting of the District School Sports Association (DSSA) was successfully organized at B.L. Central Public Senior Secondary School, Kunihar. Representatives from various blocks and schools under the Arki and Ramshehar zones participated in the meeting and held detailed discussions regarding upcoming sports activities and competitions.

Providing information about the event, Raj Kumar Gautam, BPO Arki, stated that the objective of the meeting was to prepare the framework for district-level sports competitions to be held during the current academic session and to establish better coordination among schools. He informed that Gopal Chauhan, Deputy Director of School Education (Higher), Solan, attended the event as the Chief Guest, adding prestige to the program.

Among those present at the meeting were ADPO Hem Raj; BPO Shweta Gupta from Patta Mahlog Block; BPO Raj Kumar Gautam from Arki Block; BPO Manorama from Dhundan Block; DSSA members Raj Kumar Pal, Dharm Pal, Mahendra Rathore, Subhash, and Surendra; the host school's Principal Hem Raj Gaur; Bimla Verma; along with principals, headmasters, and physical education teachers from various schools.

The program was conducted by Ishan Bhatia, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and all dignitaries on their arrival at the school campus. School President Gopal Sharma also extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests, DSSA members, and representatives. He honored the Chief Guest with a shawl, a traditional Himachali cap, and a memento. ADPO Hem Raj and other DSSA members were also felicitated with mementos.

Addressing the gathering, ADPO Hem Raj shared important information regarding the organization, schedules, and probable venues for the upcoming sports competitions. DSSA member and DPE Raj Kumar Pal provided detailed information about the schools selected for organizing primary and senior-level sports events, as well as other necessary arrangements.

In his address, Chief Guest Gopal Chauhan appreciated the excellent arrangements made by the school management and stated that sports are an important medium for the holistic development of students. He urged all school representatives to promote sports and carry out their responsibilities with dedication, commitment, and team spirit.

The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere. Excellent refreshment and meal arrangements were made for all participants, which were highly appreciated by the attendees. The meeting proved to be an important step toward the successful organization of the upcoming district-level sports competitions.

International Yoga Day Celebrated Enthusiastically at B.L. School, Kunihar

Yoga Promotes a Healthy Body and Mind; Students Learned Valuable Yoga Practices

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a grand and inspiring program was organized at B.L. Central Public Senior Secondary School, Kunihar. The school campus was filled with a vibrant yogic atmosphere as students, teachers, and members of various school units enthusiastically participated in the event.

Providing details about the program, NSS In-charge Poonam Sharma and Purshotam Lal stated that the event was organized to mark International Yoga Day and was graced by the presence of the school Chairman Gopal Sharma as the Chief Guest. Upon his arrival, he received a warm welcome from the students and staff members.

During the program, the school's Physical Education Teacher Aruna Sharma guided students and teachers through various yoga postures, pranayama techniques, and meditation exercises. Highlighting the importance of yoga, she explained that regular practice not only improves physical health but also enhances mental concentration, self-confidence, and positive thinking.

Addressing the gathering, Special Guest Smt Sushma Sharma extended his greetings on International Yoga Day to all students and teachers. He stated that yoga is an ancient and invaluable heritage of India that is now being embraced worldwide. He encouraged students to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives to lead healthy, disciplined, and balanced lives.

Students from the school's various units, including NSS, NCC, Scouts and Guides, and the Lion Eco Club, also participated actively in the event. The program was attended by Principal Sushma Sharma, Vice Principal Purushottam Lal, Shivani Sharma, and unit in-charges Poonam Sharma, Dinakshi Thakur, Aruna Sharma, Kanchan Thakur, Pinki Kumari, Subhash, Sanjay Kumar, and Aarti Bhardwaj.

The President of the School Parent-Teacher Association, Ratan Tanwar, also conveyed his best wishes on Yoga Day and emphasized that yoga is the foundation of a healthy society and a strong nation.

The program concluded with a collective yoga session and a pledge to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The event played a significant role in increasing awareness about yoga among students and promoting the message of healthy living. At the end of the program, fruits and juice were distributed to all participants.
