In a novel experiment, DB Public School - Kuranwala observed a ‘no school bag day’ on Saturday i.e. 27th April 2019 with a great joy & excitement.

The entire team of DB Public School engaged students in extracurricular activities . Our students enjoyed many activities together like making paper bags using newspapers , drawing & paintings , playing with blocks , carrom board , chess & luddo etc & they also danced on the beats of Garba.

The students enthusiastically took part in the various indoor & outdoor games. Our Chairman Shri Kamal Chandel said that , parents should be involved in this activity as well because they know their child in a better way, so inputs & new ideas from parents, teachers can groom the students.

Therefore, this process would definitely encourage students to look at school learning in a different way.

DB Public School - Kuranwala celebrated Earth Day 2019, on 22nd April with great joy & enthusiasm & organized Awareness Rally in the surrounding areas with an objective to create awareness and connect people with the nature . Our students made Placards & raised their voice in unity to protect our Mother Earth .

The objective of this event in our school is to sensitize the students about the issues affecting our Earth as well as encourage and motivate them to take serious reforms to safe guard our earth. .Students raised slogans and displayed posters regarding different issues during the rally covering various locations of Kuranwala & Baddi. Our tiny tots also planted saplings in the school premises and other places during Rally.

Our Chairman Shri Kamal Chandel said that celebrating Earth Day in schools reminds every student to be an environmental and
climate literate citizen, ready to take an action and be a voice for conservation and
change.

The management & teachers of DB Public School - Kuranwala took one more initiative and started music classes for students in the school from academic session 2019-20.

More Than Just Music Research has found that learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas.

Fortunately our Chairman Shri Kamal Chandel has strong bond with music & especially with flute. He not only played melodious tunes on flute & other instruments but also gave important information to our young budding artists.

The music room was filled with reverberating rhythm and melodies.He further said that music training helps develop language & reasoning , students learn to improve their work , it also increase coordination , a sense of achievement , kids stay engaged in school , it also builds imagination & intellectual curiosity.

A safety drill to meet the eventualities in case of fire or earthquake was successfully conducted at DB Public School - Kuranwala and entire team of DBPS paid sincere tribute on Kangra Earthquake Anniversary in the school premises. As we all are aware that in 1905 the Kangra Earthquake occured in the Kangra Valley and the Kangra region of Punjab province on 4th April 1904.

The earthquake measured on 7.8 scale and killed more than 20,000 people and destroyed more than 100,000 buildings in the towns of Kangra , Dharamshala & Mcleodganj. The teachers of DB Public School demonstrated the use of Fire Extinguisher in the school at the time of any emergency. The mock drills were carried out in the school to prepare both the students and teachers to create awareness on the type of hazards caused specially by fire.

Our students learned various techniques to hold , lift & cover bodies during emergency. They also learned first aid and how to evacuate buildings at the time of earthquake or fire. Some first aid tips and demonstrations were also given. The session proved to be informative & can save lives at the time of emergency.

Our Chairman Shri Kamal Chandel also paid tribute on Kangra Earthquake Anniversary .He motivated & encouraged students and teachers on this Fire / Earthquake safety drill.

The first day of school is an exciting and emotional day for both parents especially the mothers and their child . The first day of school can be scary time for kids, especially kindergarten kids who may have never entered a classroom before but our experienced & learned teachers made the transition to school a bit easier by celebrating their first day at DB Public School - Kuranwala .

Our tiny tots enjoyed their first major transition with excitement &. Our teachers encouraged & engaged new students with classroom activities , indoor & outdoor fun games & helped them to ensure that they feel loved and supported during this important time.

Our Chairman Shri Kamal Chandel said that parents should avoid behaviours that might upset your child. Instill a sense of confidence in your child, be supportive , read everything the school sends home , listen your kid , set aside a time , each evening to share your child's day.

Beginning & basis of all creation. Water is the divine source of all living things. We cannot imagine our life without water and small battles / fights have started for this precious gift of God in our society. We can see long ques of people , waiting their turn for water in metro cities.

Our worries like traffic , career , politics , unemployment , Poverty , Population or many other issues or worries of this century will disappear soon , because humans are wasting water & our madness is surely going to convert our planet into desert.

The management & teachers of DB Public School - Kuranwala organized small session for juniour wing with the help of audio visual aids ( Smart Classroom) and our tiny tots understood the importance of water in our lives.

They also took the pledge to save water at their home. Our Chairman Shri Kamal Chandel also requested everyone to understand importance of water. He further said that everyone should conserve water.
