The Syntung Dorbar would like to announce that Rashi Falls situated within the Dorbar has reopen for visitors and tourists. We would like to remind you that the revenue collected from the entry fees shall be used for the payment of salaries of the teachers of the local village school. We therefore welcome all visitors to enjoy the sight of the beautiful Rashi Falls but at the same time, we urge them to kindly abide by the conditions laid down y the Dorbar for their safety and security. Since the existing boats have been destroyed by the unprecedented heavy floods before the monsoons, the Dorbar has bought three more boats and one of them has been donated by Tata Steel. The village of Syntung is 80kms from Shillong and takes around two and half hours to reach through reasonable good roads.

The incident that happened in Pashang and Lad Mawlang is really unfortunate. We condemned such act and we hope the law will find out and punish those people involved in this inhuman act.

Tourists often miss their route that's okay it is not their fault they have every right to ask. From what we know those tourist came here on Sunday said that they lost their way while coming then they asked from people of nearby village and got directed to this place, It was after they leave Syntung they again lost their way and found themselves besiege by the mobs who thrash them.

The mobs who involved in this act must answer these questions

1)What led them to do this notorious act?
2) On what ground they call those tourists menshohnoh?
3) Who authorized them(the mobs)to take law in their own hand?

As I am writing this I noticed that police have arrested some of them. I hope Police will do their work and deliver justice as soon as possible.
