Lot of blogs and adds claim that there are thousands of vacancies. But we have to break it down exam wise (office assistant, scale 1, scale 2 general, scale 2 specialist, scale 3), local language wise, category wise. This way the no of vacancies for the exam that we apply for comes down to just hundreds.

Apply early and get ready for the competition.

IBPS Clerks VI online application opens on 22.08.2016 Monday. Apply early or you may forget it in the midst of busy preparations.

Some points to note:

🚩Clerk prelims is on 26&27 November. (We have PO Mains on 20 November). So back to back exams. Be ready for that.

🚩Do not attend Clerk prelims with the same mindset of PO exam (We will discuss on this later)

🚩Clerk Mains is on 31 December and 01.01.2017 (Wish you a Happy New Year in advance!)

🚩PO Mains result will come in December itself i.e. before clerk main exam. You also have to start PO Interview preparation simultaneously 😨

Wish you all success and you have just 58 days to Oct16 👍

11/08/2016

66 days more to IBPS PO VI... It's high time we learn the method of solving things just by intuition. It works for atleast 40% of questions. For the rest we have our shortcuts, formulae, logics...

Learn new topics, Revise everything you know and Practice where you execute your intuition, strategy, methodology or whatever you name it... but Practice...

Practice a topic... if you are not satisfied Revise, still not start from the basics Learn, Revise, Practice, Revise, Practice by the end of which you will get the so called intuition, strategy or whatever.

Make a time table for the remaining days leaving the last 15 to 20 days for only online test and time practice. More than anything have confidence in yourself. You can do it if you work hard strategically. Wish you all success.

Another new thing noticed in IBPS PO VI notification: hairpin, hairband, belt, cap not allowed! Wrist watch not allowed!...

Another new thing noticed in IBPS PO VI notification: hairpin, hairband, belt, cap not allowed! Wrist watch not allowed! Ring, earrings, nose-pin, chain/neklace, pendants will be thoroughly checked. Though this needs to be debated, let's get ready and make our minds. Better avoid all these to whatever extent possible, especially girls, to avoid last minute tension and discomfort.

The big event of the year annouced...

IBPS PO/MT-VI

Online application: 26.07.2016 to 13.08.2016

Prelims: 16, 22, 23 Oct 2016

Mains: 20.11 2016

Interview: Jan/Feb 2017

Need of the hour (all are very important and not to be missed if you want a hassle free exam and joining process):

Take a fresh photograph with a professional dress and ask the studio itself to compress it to 4.5x3.5cm (20-50kb). Save both the original and compressed in a pendrive, laptop, mobile or email. Print the original in enough quantities to be used during further process until and after joining a bank.

Put your signature with a black pen in a neat white paper and scan it in 140x60pixels (10kb-20kb).
Both sign and photo are to be in jpg or jpeg format.

Collect and notedown all your educational details right from secondary, higher secondary, UG, PG. All you need are passing year, month & date, percentage (calculate upto two decimal) (convert cgpa/grade into percentage).

While filling up the online application enter in your name exactly as in an dentity proof which is to be submitted on the exam date. Ensure to enter the correct Date of Birth (as in a valid certificate). Enter the right category (UR, OBC, SC, ST) for which relevant documents should be submitted. Once submitted no change can be done. Hence please be careful. When there is a dropdown, use your mouse to select an option and not keyboard.

Make all the ready along with your bank preference list before applying. Do not wait till the last date. We will remind once the online application opens.
[18/07 10:29 pm] Muthukumar RG: Other things to be kept in mind: this recruitment is for the financial year 2017-18. Indian bank, IOB, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, Corporation bank, Dena bank are not recruiting. Banks positions are becoming weak day by day and hence reducing/stopping recruitments. And there are possibilities of merging weaker banks with stronger bank. Hence it wise to prefer a stronger bank like PNB, Canara Bank, IDBI etc... And also good to have preference in order of the no of branches and market share in your own state.

There is section wise time limit (new for IBPS) for the Main Examination, as introduced in the recently conducted SBI exams. There are both merits and demerits which we will discuss later. Start preparing accordingly. Also don't forget your English and GK in the event of preparing for the prelims as there will not be enough time.

RBI First Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement 2016-17 released on April 5 2016:

Please read the full policy statement at the below link which will be useful for SBI Financial Awareness Section:

https://rbidocs.rbi.org.in/rdocs/PressRelease/PDFs/PR2337E2B74CC806E54DD9B37F82576FAEF1CA.PDF

* the policy repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) reduced by 25 basis points from 6.75 per cent to 6.5 per cent;

*the minimum daily maintenance of the cash reserve ratio (CRR) reduced from 95 per cent of the requirement to 90 per cent with effect from the fortnight beginning April 16, 2016, while keeping the CRR unchanged at 4.0 per cent of net demand and time liabilities (NDTL);

*the policy rate corridor (difference between the repo and reverse repo) narrowed from +/-100 basis points (bps) to +/- 50 bps by reducing the MSF rate by 75 basis points and increasing the reverse repo rate by 25 basis points, with a view to ensuring finer alignment of the weighted average call rate (WACR) with the repo rate;

*Consequently, the reverse repo rate under the LAF stands adjusted to 6.0 per cent, and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate to 7.0 per cent. The Bank Rate which is aligned to the MSF rate also stands adjusted to 7.0 per cent.

*Effective April 2, 2016 the statutory liquidity ratio (SLR) of scheduled commercial banks was reduced by 25 basis points from 21.5 per cent to 21.25 per cent of their NDTL. Also, from February 2016, banks were allowed to reckon additional government securities held by them up to 3 per cent of their NDTL within the mandatory SLR requirement as level 1 high quality liquid assets (HQLA) for the purpose of computing their liquidity coverage ratio (LCR), thereby taking the total carve-out from SLR available to banks equivalent to 10 per cent of their NDTL. These measures will create space for banks to increase their lending to productive sectors on competitive terms so as to support investment and growth.

*The second bi-monthly monetary policy statement will be announced on June 7, 2016; the third bi-monthly monetary policy statement on August 9, 2016; the fourth bi-monthly monetary policy statement on October 4, 2016; the fifth bi-monthly monetary policy statement on December 6, 2016; and the sixth bi-monthly monetary policy statement on February 7, 2017.

Online application: 5th April to 25th April
Fee: Gen&OBC 600; SC/ST/PWD/XS 100
Exam: May/June 2016 tentatively
(!oops this time they call it Junior Associates Customer support & Sales and Agricultural Associates) whatever, it's the much awaited SBI Clerical....

No of posts 13734, but wait... you can apply for the vacancies in only one state and you can apply for only one post Junior Associate or Agricultural Associate. For junior agricultural associate graduation in agri and/or allied activities. For Junior Associate any graduation. Education qualification should be as on 30.06 2016.

Tamilnadu has the most number of vacancies 1420 (753gen, 270sc, 14st, 383obc)

Pattern:
Prelims (Eng 30, Numerical 35, Reasoning 35 - Time 1hr)

Mains _ note carefully

General/Financial awareness 50questions 50 marks 35minutes

English 40questions 40marks 35minutes

Quantitative aptitude 50questions 50marks 45minutes

Reasoning Ability&Computer Aptitude 50questions 60marks 45minutes

Total - 190questions 200marks 2hr40min.

Interview: subject to Govt of India approval

Need to do as much research as possible for the new mains pattern... But first apply well in advance. Do not use your old photo... use a latest and a clear one (20 to 50kb) so as to use in all the forthcoming exams this year.

Mentioned in the advertisement that sign to be made on white paper with black ink pen and scanned (10 to 20kb)

Careful about your date of birth, experience (as you have to provide a proper relieving letter at the time of joining) and category. OBC certificate issued during the period 01.04.2016 to the date of interview (date of appointment of interview not conducted)

Prelims is of the regular pattern. But note the difference between Numerical ability (in prelims) and quantitative aptitude (in mains)

Mains: don't see the total time... this time in mains time is section specific. It won't take 35min for 50 general/financial awareness and 35min for 40 english questions. You can save atleast half of these sections' time but no use... u can't carry over them for quants or reasoning... But positively you can reduce the negative marks due to hurry.

Computer is combined with Reasoning and few questions will carry more than one mark (50 questions 60 marks) and 45min will certainly be hard.

IBPS has issued an official notification that clarification is awaited from the appropriate authorities regarding further process including declaration of the result of the Main Examination under CWE Clerk – V. The decision, as and when received, will be put on IBPS website and No telephonic inquiry through IBPS Helpdesk in this regard shall be entertained.

The awaited clarification might be on the discussion regarding the conduct of interview and the decision may apply for the forthcoming examinations also. Let's wait and watch.

Meanwhile starting the preparations for the 2016 exams, as the tentative dates are available, is the priority.

26/01/2016

IBPS has released tentative calender for the current year examinations.

IBPS PO/MT VI:

Prelims - 16, 22, 23 Oct 2016
Mains - 20 Nov 2016

IBPS Clerk VI:

Prelims - 26, 27 Nov & 3, 4 Dec 2016
Mains - 31 Dec 2016 & 01 Jan 2017

IBPS Specialist VI:

Single exam - 28, 29 Jan 2017

Dates for RRBs not yet given. Start preparing atleast now immediately if you aim for a Bank job. 9 months is enough even for an average person.

People miss out a lot on GK & Current affairs. Give time for that section daily

Most importantly, there is no official notification from IBPS regarding the interview part for IBPS V and for the forthcoming exams. Even if the interviews are discontinued, it is certainly not a gift as the written exams difficulty will be increased.
