Educational Visit to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) – Mushroom Cultivation Training 🍄

The students of B.Sc. 2nd Year and 3rd Year successfully visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) for a hands-on training programme on Mushroom Cultivation Techniques.

During the training, students gained practical knowledge of:
Mushroom cultivation methods
Preparation of mushroom beds and spawning techniques
Compost preparation and crop management
Environmental requirements for mushroom production
Harvesting, packaging, and marketing opportunities

The visit was highly informative and fruitful, providing students with valuable practical exposure and enhancing their entrepreneurial skills in mushroom cultivation.

23 mango varieties, creative student stalls, and endless enthusiasm! A colorful celebration of biodiversity, innovation, and experiential learning.

The Department of Botany, in collaboration with the Department of Management Studies, proudly organized the Mango Exhibition 2026, showcasing the incredible diversity of the King of Fruits.
The exhibition featured 23 varieties of mangoes, including Amrapali, Mallika, Mysore Mallika, Dusseheri, Malihabadi Dusseheri, Langra, Chaunsa, Fazli, Banganapalle, Safeda, Tota Puri, Ramkela, Mohan Bhog, Gulab Jamun, Sundari, Gilas, Sensation, Tambli, Tukmi, Galka, Green Mango, and several other local cultivars.
Students enthusiastically presented beautifully decorated stalls displaying fresh mango varieties along with a range of delicious mango-based products, making the exhibition a perfect blend of learning, creativity, and innovation.

On the occasion of 28 February 2026 – National Science Day, the Science Faculty of Sacred Heart Degree College celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. The theme of National Science Day 2026, “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat”, was highlighted throughout the program.
To mark the occasion, various events such as PPT presentations, poster presentations, and a skit were organized by the students of the Science Faculty. Through these activities, students showcased their scientific knowledge, creativity, and innovative ideas in alignment with the theme. The celebration aimed to promote scientific temper, research awareness, and inspire young minds towards excellence in science and innovation.
