Singhania University, in collaboration with the World Para Throwball Federation, hosted a grand welcome ceremony for the Awareness Rally on July 18, 2026, at its campus in Pacheri Bari, Jhunjhunu. The rally, which commenced from Jaipur, was flagged off by Shri Suresh Singh Rawat (Hon’ble Minister, Water Resources, Rajasthan), along with Ms. Nirmala Rawat, President of the World Para Throwball Federation and Dr. Manoj Kumar (IAS Retd.), President of Singhania University.
The rally was organised to create awareness and build momentum for the 3rd Asian Para Throwball Championship-2027, scheduled to be hosted by Singhania University in March 2027. More than 40 para athletes participated in the rally, carrying the Championship Flag from Malaysia as a symbol of international unity, inclusivity and sporting excellence.
Upon reaching the university campus, the athletes received a warm and vibrant welcome. The celebrations featured band performances, flower showers and a ceremonial reception, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting inclusive sports and encouraging greater participation in para sporting events.
A major highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the official logo and rule book of the 3rd Asian Para Throwball Championship-2027. The unveiling was carried out in the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Shri Ravi Singhania, Chairman of Singhania University, marking an important milestone in the preparations for the international championship.
The event also included a felicitation ceremony, during which para athletes, referees and distinguished guests were honoured with certificates in recognition of their dedication and valuable contributions to the development of para sports.
The successful organisation of this awareness rally highlighted Singhania University’s strong commitment to empowering para athletes and fostering an inclusive sporting culture. The event further strengthened the university’s position as a leading institution capable of hosting international para sporting events while promoting the values of equality, accessibility and excellence in sports.
