On Kargil Vijay Diwas, 26 July, Singhania University paid tribute to the courage and unity of our armed forces by inaugurating the Rezang La Sports Ground at Pacheri Bari campus.

The event honoured over 100 war widows and Kargil War veterans, with the presence of 400+ soldiers from the Shekhawati and Narnaul-Rewari regions, reflecting true patriotism and national pride.

Chief Guest Lt. Gen. S. P. S. Katewa (Retd.), PVSM, AVSM and esteemed veterans shared inspiring stories of the historic Rezang La battle, motivating young minds.

The Rezang La Sports Ground, featuring football, cricket, kho-kho, kabaddi facilities and a 400-meter track, stands as a symbol of strength-where discipline meets determination and future champions rise.

Singhania University commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, honouring the valor and sacrifice of over 100 war widows and veterans of the Kargil War and the historic Rezang La battle. The event witnessed the presence of more than 400 soldiers from the Shekhawati and Narnaul-Rewari regions, reflecting a strong spirit of patriotism and unity.

Lt. Gen. S. P. S. Katewa (Retd.), PVSM, AVSM, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and lauded the vision of establishing an educational institution in the remote region of Pacheri. Guests of Honour, Hav. Nihal Singh and Hav. Chandrabhan, shared inspiring firsthand accounts of the heroic resistance at Rezang La.

Marking the occasion, the University football ground was dedicated as the Rezang La Sports Ground. Earlier, over 150 students of Singhania School organized an awareness rally to pay tribute and spread awareness about the Kargil War.

To initiate this prestigious journey, an Awareness Rally on 18 July 2026 was organised from Jaipur to the University campus, bringing together over 50 para throwball athletes and coaches from across the country.

Singhania University, in collaboration with the World Para Throwball Federation, hosted a grand welcome ceremony for the Awareness Rally on July 18, 2026, at its campus in Pacheri Bari, Jhunjhunu. The rally, which commenced from Jaipur, was flagged off by Shri Suresh Singh Rawat (Hon’ble Minister, Water Resources, Rajasthan), along with Ms. Nirmala Rawat, President of the World Para Throwball Federation and Dr. Manoj Kumar (IAS Retd.), President of Singhania University.

The rally was organised to create awareness and build momentum for the 3rd Asian Para Throwball Championship-2027, scheduled to be hosted by Singhania University in March 2027. More than 40 para athletes participated in the rally, carrying the Championship Flag from Malaysia as a symbol of international unity, inclusivity and sporting excellence.

Upon reaching the university campus, the athletes received a warm and vibrant welcome. The celebrations featured band performances, flower showers and a ceremonial reception, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting inclusive sports and encouraging greater participation in para sporting events.

A major highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the official logo and rule book of the 3rd Asian Para Throwball Championship-2027. The unveiling was carried out in the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Shri Ravi Singhania, Chairman of Singhania University, marking an important milestone in the preparations for the international championship.

The event also included a felicitation ceremony, during which para athletes, referees and distinguished guests were honoured with certificates in recognition of their dedication and valuable contributions to the development of para sports.

The successful organisation of this awareness rally highlighted Singhania University’s strong commitment to empowering para athletes and fostering an inclusive sporting culture. The event further strengthened the university’s position as a leading institution capable of hosting international para sporting events while promoting the values of equality, accessibility and excellence in sports.
