🌊 Seas the Day : UKG's Ocean of Imagination!

The tiny stars of UKG at Modi Public School, Siliguri, transformed into an enchanting underwater kingdom during the "Go As You Like” activity on the theme Aquatic Animals. From graceful jellyfish and sparkling seashells to cheerful dolphins, adorable turtles, vibrant starfish and playful octopuses, every child brought the magic of the ocean to life with colourful costumes and radiant smiles.

Adding to the splash of creativity, each little participant confidently introduced their chosen sea creature by speaking a few informative lines, beautifully blending learning with self-expression. Their confidence, enthusiasm, and adorable performances made every moment truly unforgettable.

It was an ocean of imagination, where curiosity made waves and confidence swam ashore!

GREEN VOICES, GREEN CHOICES : VAN MAHOTSAV NUKKAD NATAK & ECO-BRICKS EXHIBITION

“In the quiet shade of a tree lies nature's timeless poem, reminding us that every breath begins with green.”

In celebration of Van Mahotsav, Modi Public School, Siliguri, witnessed an inspiring and meaningful morning assembly on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, where the students of Class 11 presented a powerful Nukkad Natak titled "The Last Tree Speaks".

Through a compelling blend of satire, emotion, audience interaction and thought-provoking dialogues, the street play highlighted the alarming consequences of deforestation, pollution, and irresponsible human activities. The characters – including the Tree, Businessman, Politician, Social Media Influencer, Mother Nature, Doctor and students – effectively conveyed that environmental conservation is not merely a choice but a collective responsibility. The performance concluded with an inspiring pledge and the message, "If We Save Trees, Trees Will Save Us" leaving the audience motivated to adopt sustainable practices and protect the environment.

The assembly was followed by an exhibition of Eco-Bricks created by the students as part of the Best Out of Waste initiative. Using discarded plastic bottles filled with non-biodegradable waste, the students crafted attractive flower vases, demonstrating how everyday waste can be transformed into useful and decorative items. The display reflected the students' creativity, environmental awareness and commitment to the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

The programme successfully combined awareness with action, reinforcing the importance of preserving nature and inspiring the school community to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future.

The school wholeheartedly appreciates the sincere efforts, creativity and enthusiastic participation of the students, whose outstanding performances and innovative eco-friendly creations made the celebration truly memorable. BHANU JAYANTI 2026 : HONOURING A LITERARY LUMINARY

"शब्दका दीपहरू निभ्दैनन्; तिनले पुस्तौँसम्म उज्यालो छर्छन्।"
- The lamps of words never fade; they continue to light the way for generations.

On the occasion of the 212th Birth Anniversary of Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, Modi Public School, Siliguri, celebrated Bhanu Jayanti with great reverence and cultural fervour on 13th July 2026.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and garlanding of the portrait of the revered poet, followed by a tribute to his invaluable contribution to Nepali literature. Bhanu Bhakta Acharya's translation of the “Ramayana” into Nepali made the sacred epic accessible to ordinary people, enabling its timeless ideals of truth, righteousness, devotion, compassion, and duty to inspire generations.

A special highlight of the celebration was the Ramayana Path accompanied by a captivating enactment by the students of Classes 5 to 10, beautifully portraying the eternal values of the epic.

The cultural programme came alive with an energetic ‘Tamang Selo’ dance performance on "Damphu Ko Taak Dhin Talai Ma" by the students of Classes 6 to 9, reflecting the vibrancy and rich cultural heritage of the Himalayan region. This was followed by a soulful rendition of "Chamkilo Tara" by the students of Classes 5 to 10. Accompanied by live instrumentals, the melodious performance created a serene and uplifting atmosphere, leaving the audience deeply moved.

The school was honoured by the gracious presence of Dr. Benoy Pradhan, Mr. Dinesh Sharma, and Mr. Kishore Tikhatri, whose presence enriched the celebration.

As the echoes of the celebration faded, the spirit of Bhanu Bhakta Acharya lived on – reminding every heart that a language rooted in literature keeps a culture alive.

Siliguri, June 21, 2026: In alignment with the global celebration of wellness, Modi Public School, Siliguri, observed International Yoga Day with vibrant energy and enthusiastic participation from students and staff alike.

The school auditorium transformed into a serene space dedicated to health and mindfulness. Guided by instructors, the MPS family performed a series of rejuvenating yoga postures, followed by calming breathing exercises and a collective meditation session.
