Had been quite an experience with the first event taken up by NSS SIT. Beginning as was expected reached the venue with all motivation to do well, to deliver all that is possible. Ila Pal Chaudhary Memorial Tribal Government School the beam of hope for the people doomed in darkness. Good to see how keen the students are to know about things. A class 12 student of Humanities Section speaking to a team of ours asked: "Bhaiya aap log toh aaj aaye ho presentation dene, but hamare paas toh koi nahi aata jo hame in sab cheezo ke baare mein jankari de sake.. Na hi healthcare services ache hai hamare yaahan.." I wonder was it merely a question to us or to was it an irony to the country, to the so called developing country.
The development in our nation is very costly to adapt with. It comes at great costs to the common people. The people belonging to the tribal section are just considered as a vote bank nothing else. Nobody looks into the development of these people.
So taking up a noble cause to spread awareness about Dengue and Drug Abuse, we have tried our best to impart as much information as possible and hopefully this would inspire at least some of them.
Other than the presentation on Drugs and Dengue there was sprinkling of bleaching powder, cleaning of rooms and surroundings and a rally from the Salbari Market till SIT, College. A 1.5 km walk spreading awareness about dengue and drugs.
