Independence Day holds special significance in all our hearts. Not only does August 15 mark the day India gained independence from 200-year-old colonial rule, but Independence Day also serves as a reminder of all the virtues, pride, colourful history, cultural richness, diversity and landscapes which we must all feel proud to call our homeland. It's also the day when we commemorate and pay homage to the courageous sacrifices of our freedom fighters, who fought hard with a worthy patriotic spirit to get their home free.

Navratri, which is a festival dedicated to the different forms of Goddess Durga has begun in India and the celebrations are underway. The festival started on 17 October and will go on till 25 October which is also the period when Durga Puja is also celebrated in different parts of the country.

Navratri is a festival which is celebrated twice in a year, once between March and April which is Chaitra Navratri and Sharadiya Navratri which is celebrated between September and October. Vijaya Dashami and the immersion of Goddess Durga will take place on 26 October.

There is no one like teachers. They help shape our minds and personalities, but most of all they help us become better human being. There’s no denying that they hold a very important place in our lives. While teacher’s day is celebrated on different dates across the world, in India it is celebrated on 5th September. On this day we commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. This year, even though the celebrations will be different but there’s no reason to not make your teachers feel special.

India is a land where people from different cultures and religions have come together to live for centuries, and this is definitely something to be proud of about our country. After being ruled and exploited by The British for decades, India finally gained independence at the stroke of midnight on August 15, 1947. Remembering the self less sacrifices made by our forefathers and hundreds of Indians for the country, this day is since then celebrated every year as India's Independence Day.

Our little one has performed on partotic song to celebrate 74th Independence Day.
