TIG Quiz Olympiad - Semi Final Rounds

Techno India Group is organising a state wide inter-school quiz competition namely TIG Quiz Olympiad comprising of more than 200 schools from 12 districts of West Bengal.

The quiz was conducted in 2 groups – Junior Group (Classes 6 to 8) and Senior Group ( Classes 9 to 12).
The preliminary elimination rounds were conducted in two phases. The 1st phase was conducted on 10th
January in Hooghly, Kolaghat, Nabadwip, Durgapur, Midnapore and Bolpur. The 2nd phase was conducted on 17th January in Malda, Raiganj, Coochbehar, Aliprduar, Jalpaiguri & Siliguri.

The winning teams from each of the 12 districts participated in the Semi Finals on 20th January at
Techno India Group World School, Siliguri. A total of 24 teams, 2 group winners from 12 districts,
competed to secure a place the finals.

Renowned quiz master Mr. Barry O’Brien conducted the Semi Final rounds. Following are the winners
of Semi Final round:

South Bengal Junior Group
Winner – Arambagh Vivekananda Academy, Hooghly
1st Runner Up – Nava Nalanda School, Bolpur
2nd Runner Up – Assembly of God Church, Haldia

South Bengal Senior Group
Winner – Techno India Group Public School, Hooghly
1st Runner Up – Bakultala High School, Nabadwip
2nd Runner Up – Techno India Group Public School, Kolaghat

North Bengal Junior Group
Winner – Techno India Group Public School, Alipurduar
1st Runner Up – Atreyee DAV Public School, Balurghat
2nd Runner Up – Birla Divya Jyoti School, Siliguri

North Bengal Senior Group
Winner – GD Goenka Public School, Siliguri
1st Runner Up – Jenkins School, Coochbehar
2nd Runner Up – Techno India Group Public School, Jalpaiguri

All the 12 teams who won today in semi-final rounds shall compete in the Grand Finale in Kolkata
on 2nd February at Dhono Dhanya auditorium.
