Fun with Numbers | Maths Trail & Carnival

Our Primary Section recently organised the Maths Trail & Carnival, an engaging exhibition prepared by the students of Classes 1 to 5 along with their teachers.

The event brought together creativity, learning, and interactive activities as students enthusiastically showcased models, explained concepts, and participated in quizzes and games. Through hands on experiences and teamwork, students explored mathematics in a fun, practical, and meaningful way.

Strong Finish at the Zonal Volleyball Tournament 🏐

The CISCE Zonal Volleyball Tournament 2026 hosted at Sacred Heart School brought two exciting days of matches, teamwork, and competitive spirit across categories. Our U-17 team secured a straight sets victory against Sunshine School in the finals, and our U-19 team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

With these performances, both teams have qualified for the Regional Volleyball Tournament. Congratulations to all the players for their hard work, discipline, and teamwork on court.

We proudly congratulate our Director & President Mr. Anil Gupta on being conferred with the prestigious Francis Fanthome Lifetime Achievement Award!
The award, named after the late Francis Fanthome, former Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, honours educators and leaders who have made a lasting impact through their vision, leadership, and service to education.

Sacred Heart School has transformed from a modest rented house in Kurseong into one of the most respected institutions in the region. When it started in 1997, people say the school had more dreams than desks.

Today, thanks to Anil Sir and Priyakee maam’s vision and energy it proudly accommodates over 500 students and 150 staff members on a sprawling, modern campus.

An advocate of educational excellence, Mr. Gupta has served with distinction in several prestigious associations. He has held key positions in AHLIS, ASISC, and was the Founding Secretary of AHISCS North Bengal Region.

The event was graced by Raju Basnet, Hon’ble Education Minister of Sikkim, as the Guest of Honour. The occasion was also attended by Sailesh Pandey, Secretary of ASISC for West Bengal, Sikkim, and the North Eastern States. Among the keynote speakers and dignitaries present were Hon’ble Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai of the High Court of Sikkim, Dr. Jagannath Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of ICAI Sikkim, Prof. Ujjwal K. Chowdhury, Pro Vice Chancellor of Techno India University and more.

Cricket Tournament 2026

“A cricket tournament in May?”
“It’s too hot” “It will rain!” “We’ll never be able to complete it”

Several voices of doubt came up when organising a cricket tournament between different schools in May. Amidst packed school calendars and tight sports and extra-curricular schedules, taking out 4 days for cricket requires focused intent and cooperation on multiple levels. The entire Sports department of Sacred Heart compromised on crucial volleyball and football practices to secure the practice time and ground for cricket and generously acted as volunteers to make the tournament possible.

The Cricket Coaches themselves have worked tirelessly, spending long hours working on the pitch and ground and sometimes merely staring at the sky wondering if the clouds will spare us. All other sports coaches took it upon themselves to make sure everything went hassle free and our very first interschool cricket competition had no room for complaints. Everything humanly possible to do to make things smooth, was done. The school back office, tech teams, media teams, the school catering team, the Principal and construction team had a hand to play in making things smooth.

We hope we have created not just a standalone one-off event, but a culture to be continued for decades to come. Our dream was to make proper cricket accessible to the students, to make the magic of striking a leather ball with a strong willow real. To not let the wonderful game be restricted to tennis balls in turfs. And allow us to sacrifice some modesty in saying, we might just have succeeded.

The fact that Sacred Heart boys performed well and won the championship was a grand cherry on top!

It was an electrifying finale. Many congratulations to all the schools that participated and made the tournament possible, we hope to see you again next year: Don Bosco Siliguri, DPS Siliguri, Mahbert High School, Doon Heritage, Birla Divya Jyoti, Olivia Enlightened School and the finalists, TDA.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Sacred Heart School delivered a powerful performance, posting 174/5 in 15 overs. Tarachand Dhanuka Academy, a balanced team of determined players and killer fielding and bowling attack, kept the match intense till the very end, finishing at 140/9 in 15 overs.

A finale to remember and moments that will stay with us long after the last ball.

Cricket Tournament 2026 | Day 03 Semi-Finals Highlights

Day 03 of the Cricket Tournament witnessed intense semi-final clashes filled with competitive spirit, teamwork, and remarkable performances as teams battled for a place in the finals.

The first semi-final featured Sacred Heart School against Doon Heritage School. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sacred Heart School delivered an exceptional batting performance, posting an impressive total of 209 runs. In response, Doon Heritage School fought with determination, but Sacred Heart School secured a convincing victory and earned a well-deserved place in the finals.

The second semi-final between Tarachand Dhanuka Academy and Delhi Public School proved to be a closely contested and exciting encounter. Tarachand Dhanuka Academy batted first and set a strong target with a commendable performance. Delhi Public School responded with determination and fought hard throughout the innings, but despite their efforts, they were unable to chase down the target, resulting in a memorable victory for Tarachand Dhanuka Academy.

The semi-finals reflected the true spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork, making Day 03 another memorable chapter of the tournament.

Cricket Tournament 2026 | Day 02 Highlights

Day 02 of the tournament witnessed another exciting display of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship on the field as participating teams delivered remarkable performances throughout the matches.

The first match between Mahbert High School and Doon Heritage School concluded with a dominant victory for Doon Heritage School, who secured the win by 10 wickets through an excellent all-round performance.

The second match featured Delhi Public School against Don Bosco School. Delhi Public School put up a massive total of 217 runs, setting the tone for a commanding performance. Despite a determined effort from Don Bosco School, the target proved difficult to chase, leading Delhi Public School to register a convincing victory.

The day was filled with competitive spirit, energetic performances, and memorable moments that truly reflected the essence of school sports and teamwork.

Sacred Heart School secured a commanding victory against Olivia Enlightened English School by 141 runs after putting up an impressive total of 194/3 in 15 overs.

Prem Kr Roy delivered a spectacular unbeaten 104* off 30 balls, while Anurag Gupta remained unbeaten on 85* off 30 balls and also picked up 3 wickets.
