🔆PM inaugurates 2550th Bhagwan Mahaveer Nirvan Mahotsav on occasion of Mahaveer Jayanti

Bhagwan Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankar, illuminated the path of peaceful co-existence and universal brotherhood through Jain principles like Ahimsa (Non-Violence), Satya (Truthfulness), Asteya (Non-Stealing), Brahmacharya (Chastity) and Aparigraha (Non-attachment).

Jains celebrate five Kalyanak’s (major events) of every Tirthankar including Mahavir Swami Ji: Chyavana/Garbha (Conception) Kalyanak; Janma (Birth) Kalyanak; Diksha (Renunciation) Kalyanak; Kevaljnana (Omniscience) Kalyanak and Nirvana (Liberation/Ultimate Salvation) Kalyanak.

21st April 2024 is the Janma Kalyanak of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami and the Government is commemorating the occasion with the Jain community by organizing a cultural programme in Bharat Mandapam along with Saints from the Jain community gracing the occasion and blessing the congregation.

UPSC JOURNEY: Since my childhood, I always wanted to study in an IIT. I prepared for the JEE exam but unfortunately I was not able to make into any prestigious engineering college like IIT. It left frustrated and I became a very under confident person who always used to question upon his own capabilities. But somewhere in my mind I had a firm belief that I do want to achieve something remarkable in my life.

By the time I entered my second year of college, I started exploring different opportunities. I started preparing for coding competitions with my friends. I was aiming to get into a good MNC and get a well paying job. But my family always expected me to appear for government exams. I also had a positive outlook towards public service.

Then the last year of engineering came, I decided to not sit in the placements and started preparing for the UPSC CSE 2023. My family and friends were my constant supporters.

During my preparation, I was somewhat worried about my career. Questions like “what if I don’t make it into list?” were always popping in my head.

I believed in my hardwork and more importantly in the blessings of my family. I sticked to the timeline and strategy I had preprared for my preparation. Following the syllabus diligently and being sincere while studying helped me to maintain the confidence.

Having a good peer group is also very important. It helps you to get reality check about your preparation and fill the gaps of your knowledge.

By God’s grace, everything went well and I was able to clear the exam in my first attempt.

My only advice to every aspirant is that one should always expect great things from himself and constantly work hard to achieve them.
