Bohag Bihu isn’t just a date on the calendar -it’s Assam waking up to spring.Rongali Bihu marks the Assamese New Year as April turns the fields green. Goru Bihu thanks the cattle with turmeric baths and garlands, while Manuh Bihu brings new gamosas, blessings from elders, and homes filled with pitha and laru.
The dhol calls, pepa answers, and husori sets Assam dancing - a celebration of earth, harvest, and togetherness. This is Bohag Bihu: new beginnings woven in tradition.
The family of ASME NIT Silchar Student wishes you a vibrant Bohag Bihu! May the beats of the dhol, the spirit of husori, and the warmth of the gamosa fill your year with growth, unity, and new beginnings.

Did you know that the path many women walk today was paved by incredible pioneers? Savitribai Phule fought for education, Rani Lakshmibai stood fearlessly in the fight for freedom, Sarojini Naidu raised her voice in the freedom movement, Kalpana Chawla reached for the stars, Mary Kom proved that strength has no limits, our Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar inspired generations, and hundreds of remarkable women who challenged this patriarchal society head on.
Alongside these inspiring names in history, there are incredible women in our everyday lives like our mothers, sisters, friends and mentors, who shape our paths with strength and support.
Here’s to courage, resilience, and every woman shaping the future. Happy International Women's Day.

Saraswati Puja, or Vasant Panchami, is a vibrant festival honouring Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, music, and arts. Celebrated in late January or early February, it's a day to seek blessings for wisdom, creativity, and academic success. People worship books, musical instruments, and tools of art, wearing yellow attire and offering yellow flowers. Educational institutions hold special prayers, and it's a time to appreciate learning and fresh beginnings.
The family of ASME NIT Silchar Student Section wishes everyone a very happy Saraswati Puja! May Goddess Saraswati bless you with knowledge, creativity, and wisdom.
