Myndsnare, the quizzing module of Tecnoesis, NIT Silchar, was conducted with great enthusiasm from 16th to 18th January, 2026. The event featured three engaging quizzes hosted by renowned quizmasters — a Sci–Biz–Tech Quiz by Biswajit Sharma, a Sports and Entertainment Quiz by Deraj Uddin Ahmed, and the iconic “Sound & Fury” General Quiz by legendary quizmaster Somnath Chanda.

All three quizzes were organised as a heartfelt tribute to the departed souls of our beloved students Shubhankar Pandit, Keshar Deka, and Koj Buker. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of NIT Silchar across all years and branches, along with participants from institutes such as Silchar Medical College and Assam University.

The first day commenced with Biswajit Sharma’s well-researched Sci–Biz–Tech Quiz, covering diverse topics from science, business, and technology. With participation from 26 teams, the quiz provided a highly competitive and intellectually stimulating experience.
Winners:

2nd – Meeran Kakati, Aayouskar Borah, Arman Afif
3rd – Saibalik Chakraborty, Sudeepto Chakraborty, Prem Sharma

The second day featured the much-anticipated Sports and Entertainment Quiz, hosted by veteran quizmaster Deraj Uddin Ahmed. His thought-provoking questions and dynamic presentation kept the excitement high throughout the quiz, which saw participation from 24 teams.

2nd – Rana Mayank, Avishek Yadav, Shubhamoy Chanda
3rd – Arindom Sarmah, Akash Kaushik Goswami, Sandipan Nandi

The final day concluded with the “Sound & Fury” General Quiz by Somnath Chanda. Rich in fundas, insights, and intriguing trivia, the quiz served as a fitting finale to the Myndsnare lineup, with 28 teams competing fiercely.

On the final day of Tecnoesis, we bring to you the ultimate test of wits.Let's make some noise, NIT-S! and get ready for "Sound and Fury," the most explosive general quiz Myndsnare has to offer. This is the ultimate battleground for minds that thrive on chaos and curiosity. We're mashing up geopolitics with graphic novels, Nobel laureates with Netflix blockbusters, and market trends with mega milestones. It's loud, it's fast, and it signifies your victory.
Testing us in this battle will be none other than our Quiz master Mr. Somnath Chanda, a renowned Quiz Master and author, well-known across India’s quizzing circuit. Beginning his journey during his school days, he first conducted a quiz in 2005 and has since hosted numerous school, college, and corporate quizzes nationwide.He is the author of five acclaimed quiz books — Bharat: Ek Quizkatha, Powerplay, Cinemagic Quiz (The KHAN Special), Cricket Extras, and Kali Kolom Mon — covering diverse themes such as Indian culture, cricket, cinema, and Bengali literature and also the creative force behind Quizzocrazy, a popular YouTube channel dedicated to quizzes and learning.
