Ahom Diwas is celebrated to honour the founder of the Ahom kingdom Chaolung Sukapha the visionary leader who laid the foundation of a united, culturally rich, and powerful Assam.
On 2nd December every year, we remember his journey from Yunnan to Assam, where he built a kingdom based on peace, diplomacy, and unity among diverse communities.
Sukapha didn’t rule with fear; he ruled with understanding, respect, and smart leadership bringing tribes together, shaping administration, and creating the strong socio-cultural identity that still defines Assam today.
Ahom Diwas is a reminder of where we come from and why our history matters. It celebrates the legacy of a leader who shaped Assam for over 600 years through courage, wisdom, and unmatched statesmanship.
Today, we pay tribute to Sukapha’s contributions and carry forward the pride of the Ahom heritage a story of unity, strength, and cultural brilliance that continues to inspire generations.

Lachit Diwas 🙌 is not just a date on the calendar it’s a reminder of courage, strategy, and unwavering love for the motherland.
Every year on 24th November, Assam pays tribute to Lachit Borphukan, the legendary Ahom general who protected Assam from the Mughal invasion during the Battle of Saraighat in 1671.
His leadership wasn’t built on fear or power, but on responsibility, discipline, and sacrifice even when it demanded the toughest decisions.
Lachit Diwas teaches us that real bravery lies in standing firm when everything seems impossible, fighting not for glory but for duty, culture, and people.
So today, let’s honour his legacy, remember our history, and carry forward the spirit of resilience and patriotism that Lachit Borphukan gifted Assam and India.
Heroes like him aren’t born often and they must never be forgotten.
