Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti Senior Secondary School, Silchar, in collaboration with the Cachar District Chess Association and e4 Chess Academy, successfully hosted the *6th Barak Valley Interschool Chess Championship 2026* on 9th and 10th May 2026 at the school campus. The prestigious tournament, featuring both Individual and Team Championship events, witnessed enthusiastic participation from young chess talents across the region, showcasing strategic acumen, intellectual brilliance, and exemplary sportsmanship.

Adding pride to the occasion, *NG Sivanka Singha of Class V* brought laurels to the school by securing the *Gold Medal in the Knight Category* of the championship. The event concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the remarkable achievements and competitive spirit of the participants while reaffirming the significance of such scholastic sporting events in fostering discipline, analytical thinking, and holistic development among students.
