The birth of Saatatya Foundations took place in 2018 , with the intention of pertaining knowledge to school going children in various forms to develop their holistic skills, by Shoman Nath, MCA, Director of the Foundation, who had worked in various multinational companies and government training centers for many years, after returning to Silchar. The Foundation had organized many activities in the past and has collected only a minimal fee to buy the certificates, badges and trophies, basically never working towards any profit.
The inception of this nonprofit Mega Art Competition at a District Level, conducted by the Foundation on 8th December, 2024 (Sunday) at Satindra Mohan Stadium, DSA, Silchar was born out of empathy and love for children and where a forum was given to children to express their creativity without charging any entry fee for the competition starting from Nursery to Class 12. The competition was a great success with over two thousand five hundred children giving a go at their artistic ideas on paper.
The competition was inaugurated by Gunasindhu Maharaj of Bharat Sevashram Sangha followed by cultural programmes. The programme was supported by ‘the Cachar District Administration, Social, Cultural, Educational & Sports Development Trust’, Mrs. Souravy Nath, Principal of Flying Colours Preschool & Academy, Mr. Siddharta Sekhar Dutta, Shree Adhi TVS, Mr. Gopal Chandra Paul, Tulika Arts, Rajashree Nath Singh, Wellness Coach, Pritam Dey of the Shopping Nest and Farad Laskar, Director of Institute of Art and Craft, Mr. Rahul Choudhury, Owner of Graphi Tees, and others. Rudra Narayan Gupta, President, Ramanuj Degree College, Moni Bhattacharjee, President of Nabarun, Silchar, Atanu Bhattacharjee, Secretary, DSA, Dr. Sarmistha Bhattacharjee, Bimalendu Sinha, Teacher at Ramakrishna Mission School, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajkumar Mazinder, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts, Assam University, Sulochana Burman, Bhai Bhai Medical Store, were some of the prominent figures who were present at the function. Along with Mr. Shoman Nath, Mr. Kalpataru Das and Mr. Rajdeep Deb Roy, the staff and students of Flying Colours Preschool & Academy had made this day possible with their hard work and support. The print media and social media had also supported us in this competition.
The day concluded with the prize distribution ceremony with the first prize won by Disha Kangsha Banik, Sushruto Dey, Soham Nath and Sneha Kangsha Banik. The three Best school prizes were a gift from veteran founder of Saatatya Foundations, Mrs Renuka Nath, to Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Ramanuj Vidya Mandir and Netaji Balika Vidya Niketan respectively. Along with the prizes, MCQ books on Mathematics and Science for Class 10 by Shoman Nath himself were presented to many schools as scholarship.
Overall, it was a great, happy and colourful experience for the children and the organizers alike. The Foundation would like to organize more such competitions for the benefit of children in the future, said Mr. Shoman Nath, Director of Saatatya Foundations in his speech.
