Distinguished International Lecture on Universal Human Values
The Department of Business Administration, Assam University, Silchar, had the privilege of hosting Dr. Dorji Thinley, a distinguished academician from the Kingdom of Bhutan, as the Invited Speaker for the Induction Programme of the Integrated MBA Students on 25th July 2026.
Dr. Dorji Thinley delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking lecture on "Universal Human Values", emphasizing the importance of compassion, integrity, ethical leadership, mindfulness, and holistic well-being in shaping responsible managers and global citizens. He encouraged students to pursue success not merely through professional excellence but by embracing humanity, empathy, and sustainable living.
With an illustrious career spanning several decades in Bhutan's higher education sector, Dr. Dorji Thinley holds a Ph.D. from the University of New England, Australia. He has made remarkable contributions to higher education and quality assurance in Bhutan, serving as the Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Higher Education Quality Council and as a Board Member of the Comparative Education Society of Asia (CESA).
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Thinley has been instrumental in establishing centres dedicated to Happiness and Well-being, Heritage Education, Creative Arts, Artificial Intelligence, and Specialised Libraries, reflecting Bhutan's unique vision of integrating knowledge with human values and societal well-being.
The session was highly interactive, motivating the newly admitted students to cultivate values-driven leadership while preparing themselves for the challenges of the dynamic business environment. The lecture beautifully resonated with Bhutan's philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH) and highlighted the significance of balancing professional ambitions with ethical responsibility and social harmony.

🎓 MBA Induction Programme 2026 | International Guest Lecture

The Department of Business Administration, Assam University, was privileged to host Associate Professor Dr. Amnuay Wattanakornsiri, Vice President of Surindra Rajabhat University, Surin, Thailand, as a distinguished international resource person during the MBA Induction Programme 2026.

As part of the induction programme, Dr. Amnuay delivered two inspiring lectures that provided the incoming MBA students with valuable global perspectives on leadership and sustainable development.

His session on "Leadership for Graduate Students" emphasized the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, ethical leadership, resilience, and continuous learning in shaping successful management professionals. He encouraged students to become visionary leaders capable of creating meaningful impact in a rapidly changing global environment.

In his second lecture, "Sustainable Development through Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and Zero Waste Communities in Thailand," Dr. Amnuay introduced students to Thailand's internationally acclaimed development model based on the principles of moderation, reasonableness, and resilience. Through practical examples of circular economy and zero-waste communities, he highlighted the role of responsible leadership in building a sustainable future.

The highly interactive sessions inspired students to think beyond conventional management practices and embrace innovation, sustainability, and global citizenship. The Department of Business Administration, Assam University, Silchar, was honoured to host Shri Ugen Tashi, Executive Director– Human Resources, IDBI Bank Ltd., Mumbai, as the distinguished resource person during the MBA Induction Programme 2026–28.

The Department of Business Administration, Assam University, successfully inaugurated the MBA Induction Programme 2026–2028 in the esteemed presence of Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Assam University, and Mr. I. B. Ubadiya, General Manager, Rosekandy Tea Estate, who graced the occasion as distinguished guests.

Our department had the honour and privilege of welcoming Prof. (Dr.) Krishn Awatar Goyal, an eminent academician, researcher, and administrator, for an enriching and insightful session with our students.

Currently serving as Professor & Head, Department of Business Finance & Economics and Director, International Affairs, Dr. Goyal is widely recognized for his immense contribution to higher education, research, and academic leadership at both national and international levels.

With more than three decades of academic experience, 60+ research publications, 12 books, international collaborations, and numerous prestigious awards to his credit, he has actively contributed to global economic discourse,participating in 100+national and international conferences and workshops as resource person.
