Independence Day celebration...

नास्ति मातृसमा छाया नास्ति मातृसमा गतिः। नास्ति मातृसमं त्राणं नास्ति मातृसमा प्रपा॥

অর্থাৎ মায়ের সমান কোনো ছায়া, কোনো আশ্রয় কোনো সুরক্ষা নেই। মা আমাদের জীবন দায়িনী।

पिता धर्मः पिता स्वर्गः पिता हि परमं तपः । पितरि प्रीतिमापन्ने सर्वाः प्रीयन्ति देवता ।

অর্থাৎ পিতাকে স্বর্গের সাথে, নিজের আরাধ্য ধর্মের সাথে, নিজের তপস্যা র সাথে তুলনা করা হয়। এটাই বিশ্বাস যে পিতা খুশী হলে সমস্ত দেবলোক খুশী হয়।

ভারতবর্ষের যে কোনো ধর্ম, জাতি, ভাষাগোষ্ঠী সর্বদা মাতা ও পিতাকে সর্ব উচ্চ আসনে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছে। যার থেকে আমাদের উদ্ভব, আজ বহুল ভাবেই উনারা অসম্মানীত।
আমাদের ভারতবর্ষিয় সংস্কার, পিতা মাতাকে দেবতুল্য স্থান দিয়েছে।

সেন্ট থমাস রেসিডেন্সিয়াল স্কুল, মেহেরপুর তাই ক্লাস ওয়ান থেকে ক্লাস টেনের ছেলেমেয়েদের এই সংস্কার দিতে গত দশ দিন যাবৎ স্কুলে ক্লাসের ফাঁকে পিতৃ মাতৃ বন্দনার আয়োজন করেছিলো। আজ ছিলো তার শেষ দিন।
কিন্তু দুঃখের ও অভিমানের কথা, সিংহভাগ অভিবাবকরা এতে সাড়া দেয় নি।

কিন্তু যারা এসেছেন, তাদেরকে আমরা প্রণাম জানাই| আমাদের সাধু উদ্দেশে সহযোগিতা করে আমাদের মনোবল অনেকটাই বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন।
হয়তো এভাবেই একদিন অনেক ভালো, সংস্কার যুক্ত ছেলে মেয়ে এই স্কুল থেকে জন্ম নিয়ে সমাজকে দৃঢ়, শক্ত গড়বে 💐💐💐🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

The joyous spirit of Christmas 2024 was embraced by the students and teachers of St.Thomas School through various cultural events.

On 14th November 2024, our school children with bright smiles, happy faces and colourful attire enjoyed a fun filled day.
To add more to their excitement and enthusiasm, various food stalls were put up along with various game joints as well.

The day came to an end with a happy tummy & a joyous face.

Pictures clicked everywhere and whistles blown at a loud noise reminded all of us once again that we are all kids at heart.

And that's how we at St Thomas Residential school celebrated Children's Day.

Ramkrishna Mission Sevashrama, Silchar organised value orientation programme at St.Thomas School to encourage the students to embrace universal values of honesty, truth, peace, integrity and compassion. As a part of their centenary celebration, they have organised quiz, art and essay writing competition among the students. Swami Vaikunthanandaji Maharaj delivered the speech, which enlightened the students and the teachers. He emphasised the importance of inculcating moral values in the students. The management team of St.Thomas School felt privileged to witness the event.

শিক্ষায় মাতৃভাষার গুরুত্ব নিয়ে আলোচনা সভা:-গত ১৬ ই মে মেহেরপুরে অবস্থিত সেন্ট থমাস স্কুলে সকল ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বক্তব্য রাখেন Ashwash NGO এর সভানেত্রী অরুন্ধতী গোপ্তা সঙ্গে ছিলেন এনজিওর সদস্যা অমৃতা সিনহা। সভানেত্রী সকল ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন যে সকল বিষয়ে শিক্ষা অর্জনের সহিত প্রতিটি মাতৃভাষাও অর্জন করা উচিত। তিনি আরো বলেন যে মাতৃভাষায় শিশুর চিন্তাশক্তি ও কল্পনা শক্তিকে বৃদ্ধি করে ।তাই প্রত্যেকেরই নিজ নিজ মাতৃভাষা সম্পর্কে অবগত থাকা একান্ত কাম্য।
