Raja academy of sqay martial arts

Today, *Shopian Sports Association in collaboration with Raja Academy of Sqay Martial Arts* organized a heartfelt retirement function in honor of our respected ex-PEM, *Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Wackoo.*

On this occasion, Sports Association shopian General Secretary *Gh. Hassan Khan and Sqay Association General Secretary Tahir Ahmad* appreciated his remarkable contribution and many years of dedicated service towards the development of sports. They also thanked the department for its continuous support. Both of them also felicitated *Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Wackoo* with a traditional Kashmiri shawl as a mark of respect and honor.

In his address, Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Wackoo expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone and said he will always stay connected and continue working together with all.

Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Pulwama–Shopian in collaboration with District Administration Shopian organized a District Level Pad Yatra (Unity March) on 31st October 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of a great national leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who played a key role in uniting the nation.

The Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, graced the event as the Chief Guest and flagged off the Pad Yatra from the District Police Lines. The march concluded at the Mini Secretariat Shopian.

More than 3000 participants, including youth, students, and volunteers, enthusiastically took part in the event carrying banners and slogans promoting unity, peace, and national integrity. The theme of the event was “Walk for Unity, Walk for Bharat – One Nation, One Vision.”

Cultural programs and patriotic performances were also presented, reflecting the spirit of harmony and celebrating the leader’s vision of a united India.

The event highlighted the role of youth in nation-building and promoted the values of unity and collective responsibility under the banner of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat).

The 26th District Sqay Championship was successfully organised at Boys Higher Secondary School Shopian, where around 200 players from different clubs and schools participated with great enthusiasm.
The event showcased the growing popularity of Sqay Martial Arts in the district, promoting discipline, fitness, and sportsmanship among the youth.
