The transparent, comprehensive, and well-documented presentation of income and expenditure reflects the Central Bodyβs strong commitment to accountability, integrity, and democratic functioning of the Forum. Placing this consolidated statement before all stakeholders is a commendable step that strengthens trust and confidence among General Line Teachers across the Union Territory.
District Shopian particularly appreciates the clarity with which contributions from various districts and the corresponding expenditures especially those related to legal proceedings concerning the seniority case at the Honβble J&K High Court and the Honβble Supreme Court of Indiaβhave been outlined. Such transparency ensures that every contributor is duly informed about the utilization of funds for the collective cause of GLTs.
We acknowledge the efforts of the Provincial (Supreme) Executive Council and the office bearers of the Central Body for their dedication and hard work in safeguarding the interests of General Line Teachers and for keeping stakeholders informed through proper documentation.
The District Shopian assures its continued cooperation and support to the JKGLTF Central Body in all future endeavors for the welfare, unity, and rights of General Line Teachers.

Office of the President JKGLTF District Shopian
PRESS NOTE
A delegation of the General Line Teachers Forum (GLTF), District Shopian, led by its District President, Mr. Shiraz Ahmed, today met the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Shopian, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Shah Sahib who recently assumed charge. The delegation welcomed CEO and assured him of full cooperation and support for the overall development and welfare of the education sector in the district.
The delegation also included JKGLTF J&K Core Member Mr. Idrees Ahmad, General Secretary Mr. Gulzar Ahmad Kumar, Treasurer Mr. Ishfaq Ahmad Chapoo, and Zonal President Zone Shopian Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Dar, among other members.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the following issues:
1. Availability and proper deployment of subject-specific teachers for secondary classes.
2. Rationalization of teaching staff strictly on merit and rotational basis to ensure transparency and equity.
3. Minimization of non-teaching and non-academic duties assigned to teachers, allowing them to focus on academic responsibilities.
4. Provision of adequate non-teaching staff to all high schools of the district through a rationalized mechanism.
5. Identification and timely filling of infrastructural gaps in schools to improve teaching-learning conditions.
The Chief Education Officer, Shopian, patiently listened to the concerns raised by the delegation and appreciated the constructive vision and responsible approach of the organization. He assured timely redressal of all genuine issues in the larger interest of strengthening the school education system in District Shopian.

A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF), District Shopian, today on 16-12-2025, met the Worthy Chief Education Officer (CEO), Shopian, Jinab Bashir Ahmad Shah, in his office chamber and congratulated him on his posting as CEO Shopian.
During the meeting, the forum submitted a memorandum to the Worthy CEO highlighting various issues being faced by teachers of District Shopian, including rationalisation of teachers, shortage of staff in Schools, non-teaching assignments given to Teachers from time to time affecting the academic side, and other related concerns.
The Worthy CEO gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all the genuine issues faced by the teachers of District Shopian would be addressed and resolved on priority.

We express our heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of the mother of Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Teacher at High School Nadigam, and Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Lecturer in Physics at HSS Narapora. We are deeply saddened to learn about the untimely demise of Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Malik, a dedicated General Line Teacher of the 2009 batch Resident of Village Killora District Shopian. His sudden departure at such a young age is a great loss to the teaching fraternity as well as to all those whose lives he touched with kindness, humility, and commitment.
May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah, forgive his shortcomings, and bestow patience and strength upon his family, friends, and colleagues to bear this irreparable loss.

A delegation of JK GLTF District Shopian, under the able leadership of President Mr. Sheeraz Ahmad Teli, visited the office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Shopian to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to Worthy Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Shah on his assumption of charge as the new CEO of Shopian.
The forum felicitated the newly appointed CEO and presented a memorandum highlighting key concerns and vital issues related to the teaching fraternity and the overall educational ecosystem of the district.
Worthy CEO gave a patient and considerate hearing to the points raised and assured the delegation that all genuine demands will be addressed on a priority basis.
JKGLTF President District Shopian, Mr. Sheeraz Ahmad Teli, on behalf of the forum, expressed full confidence in the leadership of the CEO and assured that all SSRB-recruited General Line Teachers will continue to serve with sincerity, dedication, and enthusiasm to strengthen the academic performance and institutional framework of the district.
