Congratulations to all those who passed Your hard work and dedication have brought you this success. Be proud of yourself and keep moving forward with confidence.
To those who didn’t get the result they expected don’t lose heart. One exam does not define your future or your abilities. This is just a temporary setback, not the end. Learn from it, stay determined, and try again with renewed strength.

Climate change has noticeably altered Kashmir’s climate, and one clear impact is the lack of regular snowfall. Rising global temperatures have made winters shorter and warmer, causing precipitation to fall as rain instead of snow, even during traditionally cold periods. This change disrupts natural water cycles, reduces river flow, affects agriculture, and harms tourism, which depends heavily on snowfall. Factors such as global warming, deforestation, and rapid urbanization have further intensified the problem, making the absence of snowfall a serious environmental warning for Kashmir’s fragile ecosystem.

Chillai Kalan is a traditional term used in Kashmir to describe the harshest phase of winter and has deep historical and cultural roots. The word “Chillai” is derived from the Persian word chillah, meaning forty, while “Kalan” means major or severe. Together, the term refers to the forty most intense days of winter, a concept introduced to Kashmir through Persian and Central Asian influences that shaped the region’s language, culture, and seasonal traditions over centuries. Historically, Chillai Kalan marked a critical period of survival for the people of Kashmir, as extreme cold, heavy snowfall, and freezing temperatures often cut off villages and towns from the outside world. Rivers, lakes, and water sources would freeze, and daily life slowed down significantly. To endure this period, Kashmiris traditionally prepared in advance by storing food, drying vegetables, collecting firewood, and relying on the kangri, a portable fire pot, for warmth. Over time, Chillai Kalan became more than a climatic term; it evolved into a cultural symbol representing resilience, adaptation, and communal preparedness. Even today, the word carries historical significance, reminding Kashmiris of their close relationship with nature and the ways in which generations learned to live with the region’s severe winters.
