It was delightful day at Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty College Shirva as it celebrated the 79th year of Independence Day in the campus. The Chief Guest Mrs. Geetha, Woman Police Constable, Shirva Police Station and alumnus of the college hoisted the flag. She encouraged the youth with her motivational speech about the role of young generation in building the country’s future and shared her sweet memories of experience as student in the campus. Students were highly enthused by the well-articulated words of the chief guest. Dr. Mithun Chakravarthy, Principal of the college and the faculty were present on the occasion. The day was also meaningful with wonderful cultural programmes. The students were eager to receive the prizes of the three-day Tirangotsava competitions held in the college. The competitions were Rangotsava, the “Celebration of Colours” (drawing competition), Geetanjali, "Song Offerings” (singing competition) and lastly Nirtyanjali, “Salutation to Dance” (dance competition). The day ended with the lovely wishes from the teachers, students and well wishers wishing each other the greetings of the day.
