*80th Independence Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Deccan Education Society English Medium School, Shirur*
The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Deccan Education Society English Medium School, Shirur.
The national flag was hoisted by Former Subedar Major Mr. Ashok Namdev Walunj, Ex-Serviceman Mr. Dnyandev Baburao Devkhile, and the schoolтАЩs Principal Dr. Sameer Onkar, Mininath Dandwate - Upper District Commissioner, Beed , Ex- army personnel Shri Sahebrao Jadhav, as well as Members of the Local Advisory Committee, including Mr. Sudhakarji Nana Pote, Mr. V. D. Kulkarni, Mrs. Sandhya Kulkarni and Mr. Ganesh Marathe, , Environmentalist - Shri Prashant Avchat along with Parent-Teacher Association representatives Mr. Pradeep Kulkarni and Mr. Mahadev Bhatkar, other dignitaries, teachers and a large number of parents were present on the occasion. Students from the pre-primary section delivered inspiring speeches, while students from the primary and secondary sections presented melodious patriotic group songs. Their performances added to the patriotic spirit of the celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Subedar Major Ashok Namdev Walunj and Ex-Serviceman Dnyandev Baburao Devkhile urged students to contribute to the service of the nation wherever they may be and emphasized that serving the country can take many forms. School Principal Dr. Sameer Onkar appealed to parents to place their complete trust in the school and work together with the institution to nurture and shape responsible citizens for the future.
The programme concluded with the distribution of refreshments among the students.
