With great enthusiasm, we successfully welcomed our new B.Pharm. + MBA (Pharma Tech.) students at the School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPTM), NMIMS Shirpur!

During the engaging 5-day induction cm orientation program from July 18-22, 2023, our new students were introduced to their fellow peers, esteemed faculty members, campus infrastructure, and the various resources available. Dr. Suseelendra Desai, the Director-MPTP of SVKM’s NMIMS Shirpur Campus, emphasised how NMIMS has earned several accolades and accreditations, establishing itself as a centre of excellence and contributing significantly to education and society's development.

Dr. Govind Rajput, from MPSTME, Shirpur, collaborated on a research paper titled "MHD-driven Chemically Active and Thermally Radiative Prandtl Hybrid Nanofluid Flow on Stretching Device with Ohmic Heating, Dissipation, and Diffusion Effects." The paper was published in the journal Numerical Heat Transfer, Part A: Applications, which is indexed in Scopus and SCIE and has an impact factor of 2.56.

The study focuses on magnetohydrodynamics in a reactive hybrid nanofluid flow using the Prandtl fluid model. The flow occurs around a linear stretching device, and the research investigates the effects of various factors such as viscous dissipation, Joule heating, chemical reactions, thermal radiation, and double diffusion.

The findings indicate that the applied magnetic field restricts fluid motion and enhances the thermal boundary. Dissipation and radiation effects also contribute to an increased thermal boundary regime.

Dr. Jagdish K. Sahu and co-authors recently published a review article titled "Impact of Benzimidazole Containing Scaffolds as Anticancer Agents through Diverse Modes of Action" in the journal "Current Bioactive Compounds" by Bentham Science Publishers.

The study addresses cancer as a global health concern with high mortality rates. Benzimidazole, known for its diverse biological properties, is highlighted as a significant anticancer agent. The benzimidazole ring structure demonstrates pharmacological activity in various diseases, including cancer, and interacts with biomolecules, leading to multiple biological effects like antineoplastic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, antiviral, and antidepressant activities.

Additionally, the review focuses on recent advances in drug design, benzimidazole derivatives, and their mechanisms of action.
