Tuna on your plate? No need to worry!

The ICAR–Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI), Kochi has advised that tuna caught along the Indian coast do not show harmful parasite infestation and can be safely consumed as part of a healthy diet.

For safe seafood consumption, ensure quick evisceration, proper cleaning and thorough cooking. Proper cooking helps kill parasites and reduce food-safety risks.

🌱 एरोपोनिक आलू बीज उत्पादन पर प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम | सीपीआरआई जालंधर
22 सितंबर 2026 को आईसीएआर–सीपीआरआई क्षेत्रीय केंद्र, जालंधर में एक विशेष प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। यह कार्यक्रम 2025 में स्थापित सीपीआरआई लाइसेंस प्राप्त एरोपोनिक प्रयोगशालाओं के संदर्भ में आयोजित किया गया।
कार्यक्रम का मुख्य focus आलू मिनीट्यूबर्स की उचित चिटिंग और किसानों को उनकी कुशल आपूर्ति पर था। इसमें स्वस्थ एवं गुणवत्तापूर्ण रोपण सामग्री के उत्पादन तथा खेतों में इसके सफल उपयोग द्वारा G-1 बीज उत्पादन पर विशेष जोर दिया गया।
निम्नलिखित कंपनियों के प्रतिनिधियों ने प्रशिक्षण में भाग लिया:
गुड ग्रो बायोटेक सीड्स, बठिंडा
ढिल्लों बायोटेक सीड्स, बरनाला
गांधी बायोटेक सीड्स, कोटकपूरा
एबी ट्यूबर्स, जालंधर
किसान बायोटेक सीड्स, मोगा
ऐसे प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम एरोपोनिक बीज उत्पादकों और किसानों के बीच संबंध को मजबूत करने में मदद करते हैं तथा पंजाब में गुणवत्तापूर्ण आलू बीज उत्पादन तकनीकों को अपनाने को बढ़ावा देते हैं।

CPRI-SBI Interaction on Institutional Collaboration and Capacity Building on 22.09.26

A meeting was held between officials of ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), Shimla, and the State Bank Institute of Rural Development (SBIRD), Gachibowli, Hyderabad, on 22 September 2026 to explore opportunities for institutional collaboration in the areas of capacity building, training and knowledge sharing on potato crop. The SBIRD delegation, led by Shri Ashok Kumar Jha, Deputy General Manager (Research & Administration), and accompanied by Shri Shyam Dhar Dubey, Assistant General Manager, interacted with the CPRI team led by Dr Alok Kumar, Director (Acting), and comprising Dr Som Dutt, Dr Ajay Kumar Thakur, Dr Aarti Bairwa and Shri Rajat Sethi. The CPRI team briefed the delegation on the Institute’s mandate, expertise in potato research and development, and ongoing initiatives in technology development, training, extension and dissemination of best practices. During the interaction, both institutions discussed potential areas of mutual interest, including training and capacity-building programmes, exchange of faculty and domain experts, knowledge-sharing sessions, collaborative initiatives, and participation of experts in programmes conducted by the two institutions.

A group of 36 Farmers and 01 officers from WDSC Nechhwa, Sikar, Rajasthan visited ICAR-CPRI on 18.09.2026 and were acquainted with potato technologies and significant achievements of the institute.
