Call for Papers | LEAD-2027

The Indian Institute of Management Shillong invites academicians, researchers, industry practitioners, policymakers, and scholars from across the globe to contribute to the Leveraging Emerging Technologies and Analytics for Development (LEAD)-2027 conference, to be held from 20–22 January 2027.

The conference theme, “Human – AI Collaboration,” explores how technology and artificial intelligence are transforming the future of work, enabling organizations to build more inclusive, adaptive, and people-centric workplaces. LEAD-2027 aims to encourage meaningful discussions on leveraging digital innovation to enhance employee experiences, strengthen organizational capabilities, and shape the evolving landscape of human resource management.

Submissions are invited under Track 4: Information Systems and Analytics for Human Resources & Organisational Behaviour, covering areas such as improving employee experience through technology, leveraging technology to build humane organizations, AI and the evolution of jobs, technology-enabled contingent work, HR bias and technology, legal and compliance issues in tech-enabled HRM, and HR excellence through IT strategies and capability maturity models.

Researchers are encouraged to present original research, conceptual frameworks, and practical insights that advance the understanding of how information systems, analytics, and AI can foster resilient organizations and empower the workforce of the future.

The commencement ceremony marked the beginning of a transformative journey for the Doctoral Program (Residential) Batch of 2026 and the Post Graduate Program (PGP) Batch of 2026–28 at IIM Shillong.

Prof. Ashutosh Murti, Chairperson, Admissions, IIM Shillong, presented the profile of the incoming cohort, highlighting its diverse experiences and backgrounds.

Prof. Mousumi Bhattacharya, Chairperson, Doctoral Program (Residential), introduced the doctoral cohort and outlined the program’s emphasis on rigorous research, intellectual inquiry, and academic excellence.

Prof. Subhadip Mukherjee, Chairperson, Post Graduate Program (PGP), presented an overview of the program, highlighting its focus on experiential learning, industry engagement, and holistic development.

Prof. Naliniprava Tripathy, Director (I/C), IIM Shillong, welcomed the participants and reflected on the Institute’s legacy of ethical leadership. She highlighted the Community Immersion Program, emphasising collaboration, self-awareness, empathy, and equity as key leadership values. She also spoke on the transformative impact of AI, robotics, the internet, and Industry 5.0, while highlighting the Institute’s global accreditations and growing international standing.

Guest of Honour Shri Ganesan Ramachandran, Managing Director, Global Capability Network, Accenture Services Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the importance of sustainable and agile business practices. He emphasised ethical decision-making, adaptability, and asking the right questions as essential qualities for effective leadership.

Guest of Honour Shri Sunil Jain, Founder and Group Managing Partner, Sprout Capital Group, encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning and unlearning, identify a domain aligned with their aspirations, and pursue it with conviction.

संस्थान में दिनांक 07 जुलाई 2026 को गैर-संकाय कर्मचारियों के लिए “हिंदी और आधुनिक सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी : कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी टूल्स” विषय पर एक दिवसीय हिंदी कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यशाला के अतिथि वक्ता श्री राजेन्द्र प्रसाद वर्मा, उप निदेशक, केंद्रीय हिंदी प्रशिक्षण संस्थान, नई दिल्ली थे।

Prof. Arun Mohan Sherry, the Founding Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Lucknow, brings with him an illustrious record of academic leadership and institution building.

An accomplished academician and institution builder with over 28 years of experience in higher education leadership, research, innovation, and academic administration, Prof. Sherry brings a wealth of expertise to the role. With deep expertise in technology-enabled and management education, Prof. Sherry brings a strategic vision and leadership perspective that will further strengthen IIM Shillong’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and institutional advancement.
