EcoBiz Club presents 'Eco Photographer' 📷, a competition to use your creativity, photography and video editing skills to raise awareness on the need for a sustainable future. 

Here's how to participate:

🌟 Your photos or videos should showcase what you / your community/ local government etc. is doing to embrace sustainable solutions for critical problems - big or small.

It gives us immense pleasure to report that our final count for the Student Fund for Assam reached Rs. 1,01,741.85 as we closed our fundraiser on the 24th of August 2020 at 11:59 PM, organized by us. Of this pool, Rs 59,998 was sent out in the first round of disbursement. The final and remaining amount Rs. 41,743.85 was disbursed in the second round. The following are the distribution of donations to our partner NGOs.

Rapid Response: Rs. 61,744

Indian Awaz Foundation: Rs. 39,997

This would not have been possible without the contributions of the IIM Shillong fraternity and all our partner institutes. We would like to acknowledge the alumni network of our institute as our largest contributors and are grateful for their support. It was indeed overwhelming to see students and working professionals across the country come together to help those who are in need. We are in touch with our partner NGOs working on the ground and are happy to report that our contributions have helped make real change.

To date, floods and other natural disasters continue to ravage states such as Assam, Bihar, Odisha, etc which do not receive adequate attention from the media and the country at large. We urge you to keep supporting them through these tough times by any amount of contribution or even by simply spreading the word.

On this day, 50 years ago millions of people took to the streets to protest environment destruction. The start of the decade marked thousands of events staged in colleges and schools with speeches, marches and community clean-ups.
Envisioned by US Senator Nelson, is a commitment to make life better not just bigger and faster. It is a day for looking beyond tomorrow, seeking a future worth living.

A lot has changed in the last 50 years. 🌏 The world population has more than doubled from 3.7 billion in 1970 to 7.58 billion in 2020. 💨 1.2 trillion tons of CO2 have been emitted since 1970. 🤢 New infectious outbreaks are becoming even more common. ❄ Glaciers are melting faster and 🌊 sea levels are rising higher.

BUT, we are better educated than we were 50 years ago. We know the damaging effects of climate change on our earth. We now understand that we NEED to act to save it.

The theme for this year's is . Climate change presents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity. The call is louder than ever for decisive action to tackle the climate crisis. Each one of us can play a part and together we can create a better future! 🌟✨💫

The pandemic has truly impacted the world in many negative ways!
However, one positive outcome is the cleaner air in cities of India!
Air Quality Index of many Tier-I cities in India has come down to two digits as of now.

Coming to the issue of climate change, it's very hard to infer at this point of time!

When governments rebuild their economy, it is likely that clean energy may take a backseat.
