Sexual Harassment Awareness Session Held at Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya, Shillong
An awareness session on sexual harassment was successfully conducted at Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya, Shillong, with the aim of educating students about personal safety, their rights, and the importance of speaking up against harassment.
The session was led by noted lawyer and human rights policy specialist Rebina S***a, known for her work in gender justice and social inclusion. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Shillong under the presidency of Madhu Jhunjhunwala.
The event began with a warm welcome and introduction by Principal Varsha Agarwal. Addressing students of the secondary classes, Rebina S***a delivered an insightful and engaging talk, highlighting key aspects of awareness, prevention, and the need to break the silence surrounding harassment.
Several teachers were present during the session, extending their support and reinforcing the importance of such initiatives. The session was interactive and informative, encouraging students to be aware, confident, and responsible.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the distribution of snack boxes to the students, making the session both meaningful and engaging.

Free Medical Health Camp Successfully Conducted

A Free Medical Health Check-up Camp was organized at Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya, Mawbah, Shillong with the support of the Inner Wheel Club of Shillong under the presidentship of Mrs. Madhu Jhunjhunwala.

Around 100 students, along with teachers and parents, participated in the camp. Doctors conducted health check-ups and also promoted hygiene awareness. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, stationery items, and tree saplings were distributed among the students.

🌿 Free Medical Health Camp Successfully Organized 🩺

A Free Medical Health Check-up Camp was successfully organized today at Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya, Mawbah, Shillong, sponsored by the Inner Wheel Club of Shillong under the presidentship of Mrs. Madhu Jhunjhunwala.

Around 100 students, along with teachers and parents, actively participated in the camp. A team of doctors including a General Physician, Dentist, Gynecologist, and Pathologist conducted health check-ups and provided valuable guidance on health, hygiene, and well-being.

The club also conducted a Clean Hands Wash Hygiene Awareness Project, where students were educated about proper handwashing and oral hygiene. Toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed to encourage healthy habits among students.

As part of the Go Green Drive, students were gifted tree saplings for plantation to promote environmental awareness. Additionally, copies and stationery items were distributed among the students.

The school management expresses sincere gratitude to the Inner Wheel Club of Shillong for their generous initiative and continued support towards the health and well-being of our students.

Saptashakti Programme Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya

The Saptashakti Programme was organized with great fervour and devotion at Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya today. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a warm welcome extended to the distinguished guests.

Principal Varsha Agarwal addressed the gathering and spoke about the seven inherent powers of women. She emphasized that since time immemorial, women have been exceptional contributors to society and nation-building, playing a vital role in shaping families and communities.

Guest speakers Smt. Sumitra Lallu and Bubli Choudhury highlighted important themes such as Panch Parivartan, the patience and courage of women, environmental protection, conservation of electricity, and the need to avoid plastic usage. They urged students and parents to adopt responsible and sustainable practices in their daily lives.

Renowned educationist B. H. Buam spoke on inclusive education and underscored the immense inner strength and capability of women. She encouraged everyone to remain content and positive in their present circumstances and shared how various religions advocate women’s empowerment.

Social worker Roshni S***a stressed the importance of education and described women as the backbone of both family and society.

The programme also featured an engaging question-and-answer session in which parents participated enthusiastically. Active participants were presented with tokens of appreciation. The event concluded with all the women present taking a pledge toward empowerment, environmental responsibility, and social transformation.

The programme ended on an inspiring note, reinforcing the message of women’s empowerment and collective responsibility toward building a better society.
