The founder of Providence, Br. Eric Steve d’Souza passed away yesterday after a long illness. We are all saddened by his passing, but are glad that he has left such a lasting legacy. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday in St. Edmunds Chapel, Shillong.
Rest in peace Brother d’Souza.

Today is Independence Day in India.
We celebrated the day in our school. The students dressed up and watched a video of the history of the Indian Flag!

A rainy day in school....before social distancing!

This week we learned our past pupil Sibron passed away. Those who were here around 2005-2012 may remember him. He was a great soccer player. May he RIP.

At the moment we only have classes 6-12 in school. We're hopeful the younger classes will be able to return soon, when the restrictions are lifted.

Classes 6-12 are back this month! It has been a long 18 months, some students were able to engage with remote learning, others weren't unfortunately. The staff did all they could to support the students over the past year.
In other news our new school building is making progress!

This week has been a great one for former students coming back and letting us know how they're getting on. Three came to bring us sweets on Thursday to celebrate them getting into college! Three others dropped by on Monday to say hello during a break in their college classes. Was nice to see them casually go, grab a plate and some food from the midday meal kitchen. Like kids coming home from college and raiding the fridge!

Great day at the KC inter-schools sports day on Thursday! Junior boys came 2nd in the relay, the girls came 3rd in the obstacle course, and in the last race of the day the boys came 1st in the obstacle course!!

If anyone is around west Cork (in Ireland!) tomorrow there’ll be a coffee morning at 11am in Ballinadee in aid of Providence! 🧁🍮🍰

Today was the first day back at school for our teachers and students after the winter break. We welcomed a new cohort of Kindergarten students.
