Various Programmes Organized in Schools on World Environment Day
On the occasion of World Environment Day, various activities were organized at Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya, Shillong, Garudachal Vidya Peeth, Belbari, and Bijoy Krishna Garudachal Vidya Peeth, Paham, to promote environmental conservation and awareness.
Teachers, students, and staff members of all three schools enthusiastically participated in tree plantation drives and pledged to protect the environment. Students were educated about the importance of trees and the need to preserve nature for future generations.
At Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Vidya Bharati Vidyalaya, Shillong, several creative and awareness-based activities were conducted. Pre-Primary and Primary students participated in a Fancy Dress Competition, while students of Classes III to V showcased their artistic talents in a Drawing Competition. Senior students took part in a Tree Plantation Drive to encourage environmental responsibility.
The programme also featured an inspiring Hindi speech on environmental conservation delivered by Anita Chakrabarti. Students presented skits and performances conveying important messages about environmental protection and sustainable living.
Refreshments including chips, juice, cake, biscuits, and bananas were provided for the students with the generous support of JCI. The school expressed its sincere gratitude to JCI for contributing to the success of the celebration.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Chandana Das.
The programmes organized on World Environment Day helped strengthen studentsтАЩ sense of responsibility and sensitivity towards environmental conservation, inspiring them to become active contributors to a greener and healthier future.
