On August 14, 2024, the Literary Society, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized an event to commemorate Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. The event was held at 1:00 PM and was organised by Mrs Manjinder Kaur and Dr Keshav Kaushal. The primary objective of the event was to remember the tragic consequences of the Partition of India in 1947 and to foster a deeper understanding of its impact on the subcontinent.The event commenced with the screening of the film "Azadi". Following the film screening, a discussion session was held with the students. The discussion focused on the various consequences of the Partition.The massive displacement of people, lead to one of the largest migrations in human history. The ensuing violence resulted in the loss of countless lives and the destruction of communities. The Partition led to the division of a shared cultural and historical heritage, creating lasting rifts between communities.
The psychological scars left by the Partition continue to affect generations, influencing the socio-political landscape of the region.
The event successfully provided a platform for students to engage with the history of Partition and its consequences, fostering a deeper appreciation for the need to remember and learn from the past.

14 August 2024 Govt degree college shahpur participated in marathon -Red run organized by Red ribbon club at district level at zonal hospital dharmshala Two girls and Two boys participated in this event, (Sneha, priyanka and jatin, divyansh),in which sneha bagged a special appreciation prize.

राजकीय महाविद्यालय शाहपुर एन एस एस ईकाई के सहयोग से 15 अगस्त स्वतंत्रता दिवस हर्षो- उल्लास के साथ मनाया। इस अवसर पर प्राचार्य डॉ विश्वजीत सिंह ने तिरंगा फहराया तथा विद्यार्थियों को देश के लिए सर्वस्व समर्पित करने की शपथ दिलाई। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रत्येक मनुष्य यदि निष्काम भाव से देश सेवा करे तो वो दिन दूर नहीं जब भारत फिर से विश्वगुरु बन जायेगा।डॉ सतीश ठाकुर अध्यक्ष संगीत विभाग ने आजादी के वो दिन याद किए जब लाखों लोगों ने अपने लहु से सिंच कर तिरंगा फहराया था। अपने गानों के माध्यम से उन्होंने देश के वीर सपूतों को श्रद्धांजलि दी।विभिन्न सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों की प्रस्तुतियाँ देकर विद्यार्थियों ने भारत माँ के वीर सपूतों को याद किया। चाहें वो रंग दें वसंती चोला हो या प्रीत जहाँ की रीत या देश भक्ति की कविताएं पूरा वातावरण देश भक्ति से गूँज उठा। इस अवसर पर डॉ सुरेंद्र अत्रि, डॉ सुशीला शर्मा, एन एस एस अधिकारी डॉ केशव कौशल, प्रो साक्षी व गैर शिक्षित वर्ग मौजूद रहे।

राजकीय महाविद्यालय शाहपुर में आज 12 अगस्त रेड रिब्बन क्लब,एन एस एस व आई टी सेल के सौजन्य से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस आयोजित किया गया।शाहपुर महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य डॉ विश्वजीत सिंह ने विद्यार्थियों को नशा ना करने व समाज में जागृति जागरण की शपथ दिलाई। विद्यार्थियों ने पोस्टर मेकिंग, नारा लेखन, वीडियो मेकिंग का आयोजन भी किया । इसके अतिरिक्त कंप्यूटर साइंस के सहायक आचार्य डॉ संजीव कुमार ने ग्रीन आई. टी. विषय पर विद्यार्थियों का ज्ञानवर्धन किया।उन्होंने पर्यावरण संरक्षण, संसाधन प्रबंधन और स्थाई जीवनशैली को बढ़ावा देने के लिए युवाओं की भागीदारी के महत्व पर बल दिया।

Dr. Arti Pathania, Ayurveda Medical Officer from Ayurveda Health Wellness Centre Drini delivered an insightful lecture on 15.03.2024 at 11.40 in Room no 5 on the crucial topic of girls' health and hygiene. Her lecture encompassed various aspects essential for maintaining good health and hygiene among young girls, including personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, the prevalence of anaemia, and the importance of adopting a healthy diet. She equipped girls with the knowledge and tools necessary to prioritize their health and well-being. Such initiatives play a vital role in promoting healthy practices and empowering girls to lead fulfilling lives. A long session of girls inquires followed the lecture. Dr Arti also provided personal counselling to girls. Nearly 100 girls attended the session

The science club of GDC Shahpur organised a one day seminar on the occasion of National Science Day on the theme of Indigenous Technology for Viksit Bharat. On this event poster presentation, oral presentation and quiz competition activities were carried out and students actively participated in these events. 9 students presented their talk on topics of Indian ancient science, raman effect and its applications, recent Innovations in science and technology, noble prize 2023. Students also prepared posters to present their views on this day. 12 students participated in quiz competition.
