Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences MGIMS is India’s first rural medical college with state-of-the-art infrastructure &quality education. MGIMS is four decades old now.

From a 15 bedded hospital, the Institute gradually expanded- battling pressures of space and support and today, Kasturba Hospital has 780 teaching beds. It has a total of 3000 alumni working around the globe.

We are delighted to share that Ms. Nandini Gogtay, a 3rd Year MBBS student (UG-2023), achieved outstanding success in the “Solo Classical Dance” category by securing the First Position in the “Nagpur Zone” and earning the title of “Overall First Runner-Up” in MUHS. Her achievement reflects remarkable dedication, artistic excellence and perseverance, bringing immense pride to the institution.

The MGIMS Folk Group Dance team also delivered a vibrant and spirited performance that was highly appreciated for its coordination, enthusiasm and presentation, reflecting the team’s dedication and collective effort. The participants included:

UG-2023: Mr. Adya More, Ms. Ananya Chauhan, Mr. Manas Parte, Mr. Parth Kulkarni, and Mr. Yash Patil
UG-2024: Mr. Arth Shah, Ms. Bhavya Mohta, and Ms. Vasudha Kalra
UG-2025: Mr. Arsh Chhabra and Ms. Vedika Parate

We are also pleased to mention that one of the vocalists accompanying the performance was our own MGIMS student from the UG-2023 batch, Ms. Mital Joshi, whose melodious voice added great charm and energy to the presentation.

We express our sincere gratitude to Shri P. L. Tapdiya, President, KHS; Dr. A. K. Shukla, Chairman, Student Council & Dean, MGIMS; Dr. B. S. Garg, Secretary, KHS; Dr. Satish Kumar, Officer In-Charge, Student Council and Dr. Kanchan Mohod, Officer In-Charge, Cultural Committee, for their constant encouragement and support towards student participation in cultural and extracurricular activities.

We would also like to thank Mr. Girish Bhowre for his valuable support and coordination, which ensured the smooth conduct of all arrangements during the event. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Akshay Gaikar, 3rd Year Resident, Department of Forensic Medicine, for his exceptional efforts as choreographer and for training the students with great dedication and enthusiasm.
