COMMENCEMENT OF O LEVEL COMPUTER COURSE
The O Level Computer Course under NIELIT, Senapati Extension Center commenced on 5th August 2026 at Mount Everest College (Autonomous), Senapati. The course is being conducted following the recent MOU signed for collaboration between NIELIT and Mount Everest College to promote digital literacy and skill development.The inaugural session was attended by faculty, NIELIT Technical staff, and enrolled students. The initiative aims to equip students with certified computer skills and enhance employability.

XIV COMMERCE DAY CELEBRATED AT MOUNT EVEREST COLLEGE (Autonomous)
Department of Commerce, Mount Everest College (Autonomous), Senapati organized the XIV Commerce Day on 5th August 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme was held under the theme “Trade, Invest & Prosper” to promote financial literacy, investment awareness, and entrepreneurial spirit among students.
The event was graced by the College Management, faculty members, and students of the Department of Commerce. Mr. Levi Chakre, Business Owner & Investor, Private Portfolio Management, National Stock Exchange (NSE) attended as the Resource Person.
The programme began with a Welcome Address by Ms. Laijing Diana Maring, HOD, Department of Commerce. She welcomed the dignitaries, resource person, faculty and students and emphasized the need for financial knowledge in today’s competitive world.
Dr. (h.c.) Gonmei Meithuanlungpao, Vice Principal delivered a short speech and encouraged students to invest wisely. He remarked, “Degree alone does not make you rich, financial knowledge does.”
In the Technical Session, Mr. Levi Chakre delivered an insightful talk on the theme. He explained the importance of studying the market before investing and highlighted opportunities in the National Stock Exchange. Citing the example of how major companies like MRF started with small investments, he motivated students to start early, plan wisely, and build long-term wealth.
The session was followed by an interactive Q&A, where enthusiastic students raised queries related to stock markets, mutual funds, and financial investments, which were addressed by the resource person.
A highlight of the day was a Skit presented by 1st Semester students, which conveyed the message of smart financial planning in a creative and engaging manner.
The XIV Commerce Day proved to be resourceful, impactful and inspiring. The programme successfully sensitized students on trade, investment and wealth creation.

The District Mental Health Programme, District Health Society, Senapati, in collaboration with Mount Everest College (Autonomous), Senapati, organized the District Level Observation of World Mental Health Day on Friday, 31st July 2026 at Mount Everest College (Autonomous), Senapati.The programme was observed under the global theme “Access to Services - Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies”. The event was attended by faculty members, students, health officials, and community stakeholders. Shri Dharun Kumar S, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Sumpi Percy, Chief Medical Officer, Senapati presided over the function as the President, and Dr. Helen Shimray, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Senapati attended as the Guest of Honour.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mount Everest College (Autonomous), Senapati, organized a Course Orientation Programme for First Semester Students on 18th July 2026 at the College Auditorium.The programme aimed to orient new students on the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) and provisions under NEP 2020. Dr. (h.c.) Gonmei Meithuanlungpou, Vice-Principal, delivered the keynote address and stressed discipline, skill development, and holistic learning. Technical sessions covered FYUP Structure by Dr. Roshan Shagolsem, Academic Bank of Credits by Mr. Onisimas, Assessment & Grading by Mr. K.R. Alen Chiru, and Discipline & Guidelines by Ms. K L Vashti Khou. The event, moderated by Mr. Niomchung Jatak Chiru, IQAC Coordinator, also included an interactive Q&A session. IQAC, as a key body of the institute, functions as the bridge between students, faculty, administration and all stakeholders. The orientation concluded with a vote of thanks and national anthem. It was attended by college Administrators, Principal, faculty, resource persons and semesters students.

10th July 2026: Mount Everest College (Autonomous) marked a historic milestone today with the Class Commencement Programme for its inaugural batch of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).The event was held at a packed College Auditorium, signifying a momentous transition in the institution’s academic journey as an autonomous body.The solemn proceedings commenced with a spiritual invocation led by the Students’ Facilitator, seeking the Lord’s blessings. The prayer set a reverent tone for the academic year and dedicated the pioneering batch to a journey of learning and growth.The ceremony reflected unity and academic aspiration, with a diverse cohort of students in attendance. Inter Collegiate Competition held at St. Xavier College, Senapati on the 3rd June, 2026. The program was attended by 6 Colleges from across the district and neighbouring state Nagaland namely St. Joseph's College, Jakhama, Modern College, Piphema, Mount Pisgah College, Lungnila Elizabeth College, Mount Everest College and St. Xavier College.
