One cannot belong to any organised religion. I think that is one of the most difficult things for most human beings – they want to cling to some kind of hope, belief, theory or conclusion or an experience of their own and give it religious significance. And any kind of attachment and therefore dependence on one’s private, secret experience, or the accumulated experience of the so-called saints, the mystics, or your particular guru or teacher – one must completely and wholly set aside all that because a religious mind is not burdened with fear or seeking any form of security or pleasure. Absolutely necessary to find out what is meditation is a mind that is not burdened with experience or seeking experience, because that way lies illusion. By JK
