✊48 Risings of Change ☝️
Gramya Resource Centre for Women, Telengana has launched its campaign across the Devarakonda division—beginning on 18 November 2025 and continuing till World Human Rights Day, 10 December.
Under the theme “Rise for Our Bodies – Our Earth – Our Future,” Gramya has so far organized 48 Risings, bringing communities together to challenge child marriage, gender-based violence, and harmful gender norms.
Working across several villages, the team focused on strengthening the role of Panchayats—the backbone of rural self-governance. Through awareness efforts across 34 Panchayats in 6 mandals, Gramya mobilized Panchayat Secretaries, frontline workers, and community members through rallies, poster campaigns, and community discussions.
Reach so far:
• 4,236 women and 1,239 men engaged
• 15 domestic violence cases and 2 workplace sexual harassment cases were addressed
• Outreach in 7 hostels and 7 high schools, reaching 6,356 students through essay & drawing competitions, rights-based dialogues, and youth-led activities
Students raised issues such as sanitation, drinking water, and nutrition, and Gramya supported them in writing letters to district authorities
Gramya’s OBR campaign stands as a powerful example of community-driven action—mobilizing Panchayats, youth, and frontline workers to rise for bodily autonomy, justice, and a safer future for girls, women and gender expansive people.

These included:
1. Creating access to natural resources land and water for women farmers
2. Ensure pending forest claims are settled, so that farmers can grow millets

4. Government support to be provided to women initiatives for livelihoods
5. Policy support to grow diverse food crops and water availability to small and marginal women farmers
