Paul’s an apostle of Christ, an erudite scholar and an educationist as the patron of the school. He was born in Tarsus in Cilicia (South Central Turkey), of Jewish parents who maintained with great care the traditions and customs of Judaism. While still quite young, he was sent to Jerusalem to receive his education at the school of Gamaliel, one of the most noted religious teachers (Rabbi) of Juda

ism in history. This education gave him a broad exposure to classical literature, philosophy and ethics. Thus by his early thirties, Paul was an ardent and zealous followers of Judaism and persecuted the early Christians with a fierce fanaticism. While on his way to Damascus on one such mission, Lord Jesus appeared to him and instantly converted him from a fierce persecutor to a humble follower who later became the Church’s great “Apostle of the Gentiles”. Paul’s leadership, influence and legacy led to the dramatic spread of Christianity among the Gentiles or the non Jewish people. He undertook long, arduous journeys, lasting months and years, facing numerous dangers like flogging, arrest, imprisonment, hunger, marooned at sea and much more, all for his mission in life that was to bring Jesus to the people. He was not only a man of strong will power and intellect but also had glowing warmth of personality which was fired by his passionate love of Jesus. He was arrested during the persecution of Emperor Nero in Rome and beheaded outside the city in the year 67. Paul, our patron, a great educationist and intellectual who faced all kinds of hardships yet fervently followed his mission an life and achievement the ultimate excellence-God.
