✨ An Emotionally Enriching Service & Values-Based Visit by Mona College of Pharmacy Students to the Old Age Home ✨
The D.Pharm students of Mona College of Pharmacy, Sarangarh, under the Mona Shikshan Samiti, visited Asha Niketan Old Age Home for a meaningful academic and social outreach program. This visit offered students a profound opportunity to understand compassion, humanity, and social responsibility in a real-life environment.
During the visit, the students interacted warmly with the elderly, listened to their life journeys, and understood their daily needs. They carried food items with them and shared a heartfelt community meal while sitting together with the senior citizens. Before eating, the students chanted the Bhojan Mantra under the guidance of the elders, gaining valuable lessons in etiquette, gratitude, and cultural values.
Students personally served food, distributed fruits, and organized small fun games and entertaining activities for the elderly. The D.Pharm students also conducted a general health check-up of the senior residents. Many elders shared stories from their younger days, while some sang their favorite songs, creating moments filled with joy, nostalgia, and deep emotional connection.
The entire program was conducted under the guidance of Chairman Dr. Ritesh Kesharwani and Director Dr. Toshi Gupta, who motivated the students by emphasizing that empathy and social responsibility form the true foundation of any profession. They encouraged students to actively participate in such meaningful social initiatives regularly.
Faculty and staff members—Shailesh Pradhan, Chandrakant Sahu, Mendra Kumar, Gauri Sahu, Shweta, and Dildas Mahant—also accompanied the students and boosted their enthusiasm throughout the visit.
The visit to the old age home proved to be a deeply learning, emotionally touching, and value-enriching experience for all the students.
