SKSS CON sarabha celebrated the WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK on 5th Aug, 2026 in collaboration with LM Civil Hospital Ldh with great enthusiasm under the theme - Breastfeeding for Sustainable start on Life: Strengthen what works. The programme began with the inaugural ceremony and welcome address, followed by an informative awareness talk and health education session emphasizing the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both mothers and infants by Senior Medical Officer Dr. Rohit & Dr. Deepika.
A captivating Nukkad Natak performed by GNM 3rd Year students & exhibition on Lactating Diet by M.sc 2nd yr students, conveyed powerful messages on importance of breastfeeding awareness. An educational poster exhibition also attracted mothers and encouraged interactive learning.
The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Prabhjot Saini, Principal, SKSSC College of Nursing, Sarabha. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Manjot Kaur & Team (Organising Secretary) along with coordination of Ms. Manpreet K (CI).
The event concluded with a vote of thanks.

Avtar Singh Grewal vice chairman Skss charitable trust Sarabha and Dr. Prabhjot Saini, Principal of SKSS Nursing College. On June 4, 2026, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing at Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha College of Nursing, Sarabha, organized a one-day workshop titled “Essentials of Labour and Birth” for the students of B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, and M.Sc. Nursing. The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Prabhjot Saini, Professor-cum-Principal.

The workshop was meticulously coordinated by Ms. Simranpal Kaur (Assistant Professor), Ms. Manjot Kaur (Associate Professor), Ms. Suman Rani (Assistant professor), Ms. Ruchika( Nursing Tutor), Ms. Karyn(clinical instructor), Mrs. Jashanvir kaur( clinical instructor), and Students of M.Sc Nursing 2nd year.

The day commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the dissemination of knowledge and wisdom. This was followed by a series of academic sessions designed to enhance the understanding of key concepts and clinical practices related to labour and birth.

Participants engaged actively throughout the workshop, demonstrating enthusiasm and a keen interest in the subject matter. The administration of pre- and post-tests reflected significant improvement in knowledge acquisition, highlighting the effectiveness of the sessions.

On 2nd june, 2026, SKSS CON sarabha — OBG dept celebrated ‘Menstrual Hygiene Day, 2026’ on theme — Together for period friendly world. As a part of this occasion, an educational brochure was designed & an educational awareness lecture on Menstrual Hygiene Products’ was delivered to faculty & MSc std by Mrs. Manjot kaur (Ass. prof. & HOD of Obg dept) which includes information regarding different menstrual hygiene products, their appropriate use, safe disposal method & hygienic practices required during menstruation. It also emphasized the importance of preventing infections, selecting suitable menstrual products acc to individual needs & breaking myths & misconceptions associate wth menstruation. This activity was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Prabhjot Saini, Prof. & Principal , SKSS CON sarabha.
