The programme was graced by Dr. Sanjoy Das, Principal-in-Charge of the College, who discussed the cultural and social importance of the occasion. Sri Raju Debnath, Assistant Professor of History, and Dr. Samsul Alam Choudhury, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, also delivered their lectures, highlighting the values of fraternity, harmony, and mutual respect that the festival upholds. The Department of Education, Government Degree College, Santirbazar, organized a Farewell and Welcome Ceremony on 12th August 2025 in the Departmental Room. The event was graced by Dr. Sanjoy Das, Principal-in-Charge of the College, Mr. Tirtharam Reang, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Education, Dr. Minakshi Datta Paul, Assistant Professor of Education and Sri Sujit Das PGT. All of them addressed the gathering with inspiring lectures, highlighting the values of academic commitment, discipline, and unity among students.

Observance of the 79th Independence Day at Government Degree College, Santirbazar

Government Degree College, Santirbazar, proudly observed the 79th Independence Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm to commemorate the supreme sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Students, faculty, and staff paid heartfelt tributes to the brave heroes who fought for India’s independence.

On this occasion, speeches, patriotic songs, and cultural performances highlighted the importance of freedom and the legacy of the freedom struggle. On 11th August 2025, Government Degree College, Santirbazar, proudly celebrated the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event aimed to inspire patriotism among students and staff while fostering awareness about the significance of the National Flag. Faculty members, students, and staff actively participated by hoisting the Tricolour and displaying it prominently at their homes and within the campus. The Principal addressed the gathering, highlighting the historical importance of the National Flag and the values it represents—unity, integrity, and pride in our nation.
